Simulation 30 Highlights
Higher realism More detailed and accurate prediction of garments Better draping & Simulation in poses. Goes all the way. For example, a skirt that is too big (or not zipped) will fall all the way to the floor (fast) during the standard simulation time. Much improved collision. One collision type only. Better and more robust fabric testing parameters.
Clusters
Initial placement matters. Choose the best possible pre simulation position. As a rule, move clusters closer to the body. If needed, uncheck the Constrained Area check box to move clusters even closer. Its OK if shapes or stitches go inside the avatar body whenever appropriate. Check the help for Cluster dialog box to learn about all cluster placement options.
3D window
In certain cases simulation 30 may be slower than before. Especially when using very small grid on large garments. The simulation may be stopped and resumed at any time. This may be done in the following situations: When the simulation goes on but no significant change is taking place. To check specific issues at any stage of the simulation. Stopping the simulation K to stop and finalize the simulation at any stage 1. During any stage of the simulation, click inside the 3D window and than press and hold the K button on the keyboard. 2. Keep it pressed until the hourglass appears. The progress bar disappears and the
simulation stops and finalizes.
Resuming the simulation The simulation may be resumed and completed or stopped again. 2
Control + K to resume a simulation previously stopped 1. Click inside the 3D window and than press Control + K on the keyboard. The garment changes back to simulation grid.
2. Now press the Simulate button. The progress bar appears at the same stage it was stopped and the simulation continues. Pausing the simulation The simulation may be paused at any stage. Z to pause the simulation at any stage During any stage of the simulation, click inside the 3D window and than press the Z button on the keyboard. The simulation pauses.
Opening Help
Help Center to open the online help
On the menu bar click Help > Help Center the VStitcher Online Help dialog box opens.
Lower front: Defealt # 0 Top front: Defealt # 1 Collar base : Right over Left # 0 (or the same as the lower front) Collar: Defealt # 1 (or the same as the top front) Note: for older simulation versions, the old simulation & options prevail
Collars angles
Different collar fold angles should be applied based on the type collar used. Please refer to the help and look for: Setting fold properties
Note: Regardless of simulation 30, with old garments, some attention should also be diverted to the following issues (depending how old the garment is) 1. Old shapes symmetry: if necessary, re-symmetrize. 2. Old fold lines: recreate old fold lines if necessary
Updating to simulation 30 or up
Simulation Props to update to simulation 30 1. On the menu bar select View > Simulation Props. The Simulation Properties dialog box opens.
4. Click Yes or No. a. If yes, the save as dialog box opens. Proceed to save as a new garment. b. If No, the current garment is irreversibly updated. 6
