Pharmacy Courses from Manipal University

Established in 1963, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS) offers DPharm. , BPharm. , MPharm. , PharmD. , PharmD. , Post Baccalaureate and Ph.D programmes. The hospital pharmacy manufacturing unit and pharmacies of the Kasturba Hospital provide practical training to students. Practical training in manufacturing pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, perfumes and cosmetics museum and a medicinal garden is provided to the students. A bioavailability study centre and placement cell are some of the other facilities offered by the institution. Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences has research labs for pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical marketing and administration, pharmacology, pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical quality assurance and pharmaceutical biotechnology. In the last 40 years, more than 1500 research papers have been published and presented at various national and international conferences. The college has received research grants from CSIR, DST, ICMR, UGC, AICTE, DBT, DAE and pharmaceutical industries. Research

Why MCOPS ? The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of University Grants Commission (UGC) and National Board of Accreditation (NBA) of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, India, accredited Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The college offers professional pharmacy education from basic level to doctoral level with an accent on strong foundation. The college boasts of

well-equipped laboratories and highly qualified and competent faculty and supporting staff facilitating at the highest level. Courses: BPharm: ELIGIBILITY CITIZENSHIP: Indian nationals. DATE OF BIRTH: Only those whose date of birth falls on or before 31.12.96 are eligible. QUALIFICATION: Pass in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and English with Mathematics or Biotechnology or Computer Science or Biology as optional subjects.

BPharm/MBA: BPharm - MBA, 3 years The course is open only to those who are already studying BPharm course under Manipal University. The admissions will be made in the third year of their BPharm course. Only those who pass all the subjects upto the second year with an aggregate of 50% marks are eligible to apply. ADMISSIONS Admissions are made on the basis of the marks scored upto the second year of BPharm, Group Discussion and Interview. DPharm: Eligibility: Pass in PUC with science subjects. Fees: Rs. 20,000/- per year. Students who have passed DPharm are eligible for direct admission to join II BPharm. PCI is approving two years bridge course of DPharm for working as

Pharmacist. The two years bridge course after DPharm is eligible to join for BPharm bridge course for which classes will be conducted in the evening for working Pharmacists who are having DPharm qualification. Scholarship: Available to the Konkani speaking students and to the children of employees working in Manipal institutions. MPharm: ELIGIBILITY CITIZENSHIP: Indian Nationals can apply under the General Category. Foreign nationals or Non Resident Indians or Indian nationals supported by NRI relatives can apply under the Foreign/ NRI category. QUALIFICATION: BPharm from an institution recognised by the Pharmacy Council of India with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. PharmD: ELIGIBILITY: CITIZENSHIP: Indian nationals. DATE OF BIRTH: Should be on or before 31.12.96 QUALIFICATION: Pass in 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and English with Mathematics or Biology as optional subjects / DPharm or any other equivalent qualification recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India. PharmD (Post Baccalaureate): ELIGIBILITY CITIZENSHIP: Indian Nationals can apply under the General Category. Foreign nationals or Non Resident Indians or Indian nationals supported by NRI relatives can apply under the Foreign/ NRI category. QUALIFICATION: BPharm from an institution recognised by the Pharmacy Council of India with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Lateral BPharm: ELIGIBILITY CITIZENSHIP: Indian Nationals. QUALIFICATION: Diploma holders in Pharmacy from an Institution recognised by the Pharmacy Council of India.
