How to Open the Menu for Fingerprint Software

If the "Fingerprint Life Time Setting" is set "No need Fingerprint verify", every
time you click the Tray Icon will open the "Menu for Fingerprint".

If the current fingerprint expires, you must re-verify the fingerprint.


"Fingerprint Identify" dialog will ask for your fingerprint verification.

Verify your fingerprint

• Click on the Fingerprint Software tray icon and slide your finger to verify
your fingerprint.

Or press "Password >>" button and enter your password.

• If the fingerprint verification succeeds, the Menu for Fingerprint Access will
appear.

IE AutoLogin

IE AutoLogin allows you to automate the entry of ID and/or password on a web


site. At first, you save your ID and/or password for a web site. When you go to
the web site, IE AutoLogin fills in the dialog boxes automatically after a
successful fingerprint or password verification. This application is for Internet
Explorer only.

How to "Save ID and Password"


1. Start Internet Explorer and go to the web site for which you want to store
your ID and/or Password.

2. Type your Username and Password.

3. Click the icon on the taskbar of Internet Explorer and choose "Save
ID and Password".

4. If the "Fingerprint Life time setting" is set "Never use Fingerprint enroll",
the Username and/or Password is saved.

If the current fingerprint expires, you must re-verify the fingerprint in order
to save the Username and/or Password.
"Fingerprint Authentication" dialog will ask you for your fingerprint
verification.
(This process can also be executed by typing in your password.)
Verify your fingerprint or password.

ID/Password AutoLogin auto-filling

Method 1.

Start Internet Explorer and go to the web site where you have saved your ID
and/or Password. Verify your fingerprint or password when asked.

Method 2.

You can also go to the web site directly without starting Internet Explorer via
the Menu for Fingerprint Access. Click IE AutoLogin and choose the web site
you want to go to. Internet Explorer will automatically start and show the web
site you have chosen. And your ID and/or Password will automatically be filled
in.

AutoLogin Database Manager


You can delete ID and Password, and manage all the URLs you've already
registered.

Access to My Favorites

You can get access to "My Favorites" included in Internet Explorer.

Carry-On My Favorites

1. Open "Menu for Fingerprint Access".

2. Click "Access To Favorites" and then select "Organize..."

3. My Favorites in Internet Explorer will appear on the left side.

4. You can select a favorite web site you want to add and copy them into
"Fingerprint Disk". Also, you can delete a web site listed in the right frame.

z Computer Frame: The favorites already registered into Internet


Explorer are listed.
z Fingerprint Frame: The favorites already stored in your Micro Vault
are listed.
z Select All: Select all URL in the frame.
z Delete: Delete the URL that you selected.

5. You can directly open "Access to Favorites" through "Menu for


Fingerprint Access".

PCLock

Introduction
PCLock is a program installed in Fingerprint, it can disable the keyboard and
mouse. PCLock is a defense system for your computer, and it can prevent
your computer from using by others.

Instructions
1. Open "Menu for Fingerprint Software / PCLock".

2. Open "Menu for Fingerprint Software / FlashMail".

3. In "PCLock Configuration" window, you can set to run PCLock. However, if


you don't want to run this program, you can click "EXIT" button.

4. Configure "User name" and "Protect Time" and then click "OK" button to
run PCLock. The protect time must be at least 1 hour and be at most 24
hours.

5. There will be a message "Initializing PCLock..."on the screen.

6. Meanwhile, the computer will be in the protection of Fingerprint.

7. Press space bar and verify your fingerprint to release the PCLock.

User Settings

Open "Menu for Fingerprint Software / User Settings".

In "User Settings" dialog, you can set:

z Fingerprint Registration
z Fingerprint Software Password Setting
z Fingerprint Live Time Setting

Fingerprint Registration

1. Open "Menu for Fingerprint Software / Fingerprint Registration".

2. In the "Finger Identify" windows, there are two ways to verify your
fingerprint.

Method 1.

* Finger Identify: Verify your previously registered fingerprint. The blue


fingers show which fingers have been registered.

Method 2.

* Password: Click the "Password >>" button and enter your password if
you want to use it instead of your fingerprint.

3. Finger Registration Wizard will start. And you may register or delete your
registered fingers.

• Green: Already registered finger(s).


• Blue: Selected finger.

PS:
This product may authenticate the fingerprint, which is other than what is
registered due to the similarity in shape of the fingerprint between them.

Fingerprint Software Password Setting

1. Open "Menu for Fingerprint Software / Fingerprint Software Password


Setting".

2. In the "Hint and Password" dialog, you can set your rescue hint and
password.

Fingerprint Live Time Setting


Life Time of Fingerprint
If you are working in an environment which requires full confidentiality, you
may set the "Fingerprint Life Time" to a short period of time (e.g. two minutes).
When you leave computer, current fingerprint will soon expires. After current
fingerprint expires, you must re-verify the "Fingerprint Life Time". This feature
offers you full confidentiality.

• Open "Menu for Fingerprint Software / UserSettings".

• Select "Fingerprint Live Time Setting"

¾ Never need Fingerprint verify


Only when you plug in Fingerprint, the system will ask for your
fingerprint.

¾ Input Fingerprint Live Time


Every time you re-verify your fingerprint, the life of Current Fingerprint is
refreshed.

File Security

File Encryption
Your encrypted files can only be accessed by fingerprint (or password).

1. Point cursor to the file you want to encrypt and right-click. Choose
“Encrypt File” from the menu.

2. If the current fingerprint expires, you must re-verify the fingerprint in order
to encrypt the files. "Fingerprint Identify" dialog will ask for your fingerprint
verification. (This process can also be executed by typing in your
password.)

3. After passing the verification, the file will be encrypted.

4. If the "Fingerprint Life Time Setting" is set "No need Fingerprint verify", the
file will be encrypted. Encrypted files will have a lock on their icons.

File Decryption
To decrypt encrypted files.

1. Point cursor to the file you want to decrypt and right-click. Choose
“Decrypt File” from the menu.

2. If the current fingerprint expires, you must re-verify the fingerprint in order
to decrypt the files. "Fingerprint Identify" dialog will ask for your fingerprint
verification. (This process can also be executed by typing in your
password.)

3. After passing the verification, the file will be decrypted.

4. If the "Fingerprint Life Time Setting" is set "No need Fingerprint verify", the
folder will be decrypted.
The icon of the decrypted files will have no lock and will go back to its
normal appearance.

Folder Security

Folder Encryption:
Encrypted folders enable fingerprint security to all files within a folder.

1. Point cursor to the folder you wish to encrypt and right-click. Choose
"Encrypt Folder" from the menu.

2. If the current fingerprint expires, you must re-verify the fingerprint in order
to encrypt the files. "Fingerprint Identify" dialog will ask for your fingerprint
verification. (This process can also be executed by typing in your
password.)

3. After passing the verification, the file will be encrypted.

4. If the "Fingerprint Life Time Setting" is set "No need Fingerprint verify", the
folder will be encrypted.
Files inside this folder will also have a lock on their icons.

5. Moving files into an encrypted folder will cause those files to be


automatically encrypted. When removing files from an encrypted folder to
a non-encrypted area, "Fingerprint Identify" dialog will ask for your
fingerprint, and the files will be decrypted.

Folder Decryption:
To decrypt encrypted files.

1. Right-click on the encrypted folder, and choose "Decrypt Folder" from the
menu.

2. If the current fingerprint expires, you must re-verify the fingerprint in order
to decrypt the files. "Fingerprint Identify" dialog will ask for your fingerprint
verification. (This process can also be executed by typing in your
password.)

3. After passing the verification, the file will be decrypted.

4. If the "Fingerprint Life Time Setting" is set "No need Fingerprint verify", the
folder will be decrypted. The icon of the decrypted folder will return to its
normal appearance. Files inside this folder will also be decrypted and the
icons will have no locks.
