PROBLEM STATEMENT Problem statement Design a wired / wireless

manually controlled robot that has the capacity to cover

maximum distance in shortest possible time, challenging the hurdles and be one of the best opponents.

Event format 1. The competition is based on time trail system. There will a qualifying round for each team. 2. The top team from qualifying round makes it to the final round on basis of time trials. 3. On the start of a race, the robot should press a switch (Dia 5cm, Height 10cm) to open the gate. Passing the gate, the robot should traverse through various terrains. 4. 3 hand touches are allowed, with penalty of 3 seconds. For each touch, penalty time will be added further to the overall time required by machine for completion of specified round. 5. If any of the machines starts off before start up call, the counter would be restated and the machines will get a second chance. If repeated again then team will be disqualified. 6. The track will have check point at regular intervals. If a machine tumbles or halts, or goes off the arena at any point on the track, one of the participants is allowed to lift it up and place it at the nearest check point behind that point. The time shall still be running in the mean time. 7. Name of your team must be clearly mentioned on your robot.

Specifications Robot Specifications: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. The initial dimension of robot should not exceed 25cm x 25cm x 25cm. The robot should not exceed 10kg (including power source). The robot should be electrically powered. Use of an IC engine is not allowed. The electrical voltage at any point of time in the machine should not exceed 30V DC. Change of battery will not be allowed during the match. In case of wired bots teams can use external battery source. In case of wired bots, the wires should remain slack at any instant during the race. All the wires coming out of the machine should be stacked as a single unit. Also, the wires should be projected 25cm above the ground to avoid entanglement.

8. In case of wireless system, multi frequency or digitally addressed remotes should be used to avoid frequency interference. 9. Use of ready-made remote controls is allowed. 10. At any instance the robot should be in contact with the ground. Elevating from ground is not allowed. Arena specifications: 1. The track has a width of 35cm. 2. Arena will consist of switch-gate, speed breakers, marble pit, slippery path, rotating disc, curve ramp down, hanging bridge, seesaw, disturbing vertical rod, balloon pit, slotted ramp etc.

General Instructions 1. Maximum of 5 members per team. Participants from different branches/ college can team up together. 2. Participants should bring their respective ID card or bonafide. Failing to produce either will not be allowed to participate. 3. Personal laptops are allowed to be used until the event starts. 4. Participants should register your teams by sending the following details to leincasso.robotics@gmail.com : Team Name Year & Department Contact number College

Rules and Regulations 1. Damaging the arena will be lead to immediate disqualification. 2. If the operator is seen to pull the robot with its wire, the team will be disqualified immediately. 3. The machine would be checked for its safety before the competition and the team would be disqualified if their machine is found unsafe. 4. Participants are expected to abide by the rules & should co-operate with the organizers. * All the rules are subjected to change as the co-ordinators see fit. * Changes in this problem statement will be intimated to the registered participants by mail.
