SCCM Program Creation /Publishing

Program / Package Creation


1. Prepare you receipe a. Install Commandlines b. Uninstall Commandlines c. Reboot d. Dependencies e. Sequence (If you will use task sequence) 2. Login to CALSCCMDEV01 3. Copy completed files sources from \\na.tlm.com\sharedata\IS-ApplicationPackagingAppMgr\<APPID>\CompletedFiles to E:\AppRepository 4. Launch ConfigMgr Console, expand software distribution -> packages -> new

5. New package wizard appears, in the name put into this format: AppID_Vendor_AppName_Version

6. Then right click the package created, then expand. Choose Programs then right click

7. In Program Wizard a. Under name: put install 1 and iterate every install instance or if uninstall the same.

b. In Command line, copy and paste the command line specified in prep doc. Then click next. 8. In Environment section, a. Under section Program can run, choose Whether or not a user is logged on b. Under Run mode, choose Run with administrative rights and tick Allow user to interact with this program c. Under Driver mode, choose Runs with UNC name. Then click next

9. In Advanced tab, if ever you have a pre-runner or dependencies that needed to be run before the actual program you created. a. Tick Run another program first b. Browse the SCCM package, then choose what is the desired program to be run. Click Next.

10. Leave all default until you go to Confirmation tab and click finish. All the steps is the same when creating uninstall program.

Creating distribution point for your package

1. At same SCCM package, click Distribution Points tab and right-click and choose New Distribution point

2. In New Distribution Points Wizard, click next and proceed to Copy Package section.. tick CALSCCMDEV01 and click next. Choose Finish after.

Creating advertisement for your package

1. Under Software Distribution domain, go thru Advertisements -> Right click New -> Advertisement

2. In New Advertisement Wizard, a. In Name: AppID_Install # b. In package: choose the package desired to advertise c. In Program: choose program desired to run d. In collection: always use ~HP, then click next

3. In Distribution Points section a. In When a client is connected within a fast, always choose Run from Distribution Point b. In When a client is connected within a slow, always choose Run program from distribution point then click next.

4. Proceed until you reach confirmation and click finished.

SCCM Program testing


1. In your VM testing machine go to Control Panel -> Config Manager

a. Go to the advanced tab and verify if the Site code is set to DEV, if not set it to DEV. Note that you will need your ADM account to do this.

b. The, go to actions tab and highlight function Machine Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle and click initiate action. Note that you will need to wait 5 to 10 Minutes before proceeding with the next step

2. Next under also in control panel -> Run Advertise Program. From here you can see a software catalog that contains the entire advertised program. When you have chosen the program to run. Highlight the package and click run
