CLUB NIGHT SEASON IS BACK!

Our new club night season started on 9th October 2012 at the Mountain Creek Aquatic Centre. We welcome all new and past members to join one of the best swim clubs on the Sunshine Coast!

Our swimmers competed at regional, state and national level meets in October and achieved some great results. A small team swam at the Kawana LC Challenge and came home with a swag of medals and PBs. Chelsea Gubecka was a member of the winning Qld Team at the State Teams Short Course Championships in Canberra. Swimmers aspiring for a spot at the QLD State Titles swam well at the QLD Long Course Qualifying Meet#1 at Chandler. Our open water participants who battled the choppy water at Lake Kawana were rewarded with national qualifying times and some good wins. Well done to all!

Kawana Long Course Challenge

6 October 2012
Well done to all competing at Kawana. It was a beautiful sunny day and there were many great performances, personal bests, age championship titles and plenty of medals for the Makos.

Thank you to all the parents who helped with the timekeeping, setup and packing up. A big thank you to Michael who was the coach of the day. Results and photos are now available on our website. Thank you should also go to Kylie for the photographs of the event.

State Teams Short Course Championships

6-8 October
Congratulations to Chelsea Gubecka who was a member of the winning QLD team at the State Teams Short Course Championships in Canberra. The event is a team-based competition, in which state teams go head-to-head in a variety of individual and relay events to score points for their state. The Queensland team was awarded the Champion Team Trophy, with a total of 2059 points, ahead Victoria and New South Wales. Chelsea had some fantastic swims, achieving great PBs in the 400m freestyle and 50m buttery events, and had the following results: 400m Free 2nd 800m Free 2nd 400m IM 2nd 200m Fly 3rd 200m IM 4th 100m Fly 5th 50m Fly 6t Congratulations again, Chelsea! QLD Long Course Qualifying Meet#1

Well done to all swimming at the QLD Long Course Qualifying Meet#1 on the 1314 October. There were some great PBs and State qualifying times achieved. Full results are uploaded on the website. Check out the photos in the Gallery.

Queensland Open Water Championships

2526 August
Congratulations to our swimmers who competed at the Queensland Open Water Championships at Kawana. Our team did great, swimming in the 2.5km, 5km and 10km events. We are proud to announce that all of our competitors quali?ied for the Australian Open Water Championships! Chelsea Gubecka, Jack Burnham and Jessica Bayliss were the medallists of the day, with Chelsea taking out both the Open womens 10km and the Girls 13yrs 5km titles, Jack winning the Boys 17-18yrs 10km title and Jess coming third in the Open womens 10km and second in the Girls 16yrs 5km swim. Emily Readshaw, Jordan Gubecka and Olivia Shipton swam strongly in their events, not being far off the ?irst three places. A big thank you should go to coach Barry for preparing the Makos for this event. Thank you should also go to the families and friends who helped setting up, packing up and assisted in the feeding station.

New Club Night Season

Our new club night season started on 9th October 2012, 5.45pm at Mountain Creek Aquatic Centre. Our swim club offers a range of activities throughout the season and holds a club night every Tuesday starting at 6pm. Our club nights are designed for both recreational and competitive swimmers and are held in a friendly environment. Have a night off cooking dinner and enjoy our club BBQ while the kids have fun in the pool. For further details contact Sandy at the pool.
