Lesson Objectives : PRE-PLANNING OPENING LESSON CYCLE Students will be able to describe definite plans and arrangements using present continuous in written and oral form. Assessment: The students will create a schedule of a famous artist talking about the activities that he or she is doing during the weekend using the present continuous. Materials Objectives ( 5 min) -Whiteboard -students The teacher writes on the whiteboard In the near future and explains that we are book going to talk about plans for the near future meaning for this evening or next -workbook week. The students will work in pairs and they are going to talk about their plans. -handout The teacher will explain the student that this is important for them because they will learn how to talk about their near future plans and arrangements. The point that the teacher will recycle from the previous units are time expressions and sequencing words. Warm up (10 min) The teacher will ask the students what are their plans for the weekend or what are they doing after the class finish (I know that they are going out to eat). Then, the students will work in pairs and they will make a list of their plans. After that, the teacher will ask the class to give some examples.

PRESENTATION ( 15 min) The students will listen to a conversation about 2 friends and their plans during the week. Then, they will answer 2 questions regarding a time expressions. The teacher will explain that we can also use present progressive to talk about future arrangements not just for actions happening as we speak. The teacher will contrast 2 sentences about the 2 options. Then, the teacher will remind the student the form of present progressive (be + -ing form of the verb) The teacher will ask the students to read the text again and now they will identify the future plans or arrangements the 2 friends are doing. GUIDED PRACTICE (20 mints) The teacher will draw a calendar with the headings of the days of the weekend and the time of the day e.g. Sunday evening, Sunday afternoon, etc. and he will fill in some activities that hes doing during the weekend. Then, the teacher will ask the class what are they doing during the weekend while filling in the gaps e.g what are you doing on Sunday evening? The students will now complete activity C in page 118 INDEPENDENT PRACTICE (20 min) The teacher will ask the students to work in pairs. Student A has information about a schedule of student B and vice versa. They will have to ask each other what they are doing at a specific time in order to fill the missing information. After that, they will use that info to complete a fill in the gaps activity (dialog).
