Leeshon Long, Class of 2020, spent some time at the ring toss game during the KIPP Connect Fall Festival in October.
The Fall Festival featured many stations such as carmel apples, basketball, ring toss, and a linedance station. The evening was lled with music, dancing, and food.

We are proud to announce that Jeremiah Peacock was named the Linden 2012 Junior Youth Scholar! Jeremiah was recognized at the Linden Celebration and Gratitude Awards ceremony! 2016 Alum, Allen Johnson, recently starred in the St. Charles production The Scholastic Book Fair was held at KJA on December 3-6! KIPPsters Nene Dieye of Investigating Carol. Allen was the only freshman offered a role in the (left) and Savannah Rowell (right) from the play. Journey
Academy.
Emily
graduated
in
2004
from
Ohio
University
with
a
Degree
in
Special
EducaGon
with
and
emphasis
on
Individuals
with
Moderate
to
Severe
Developmental
DisabiliGes.
For
the
last
nine
years
she
has
traveled
the
world
working
as
a
nanny
and
last
year
decided
that
she
also
wanted
to
go
back
to
school
and
conGnue
her
educaGon!
She
is
currently
working
on
her
Masters
Degree
with
a
clinical
concentraGon
in
School
Social
Work
at
The
Ohio
State
University.
Emily
has
volunteered
with
many
organizaGons
in
her
free
Gme
including
Faith
Mission,
Franklin
County
Board
of
Developmental
DisabiliGes
Early
EducaGon
Center
and
Habitat
for
Humanity.
For
the
past
three
years
Emily
has
also
parGcipated
in
Pelotonia,
which
is
an
annual
cycling
event
that
raised
money
for
cancer
research. Creshonda
is
currently
the
School
Social
Work
intern
for
the
6th
grade
at
KIPP
Journey
Academy.
Originally
from
Cleveland,
Ohio,
Creshonda
graduated
from
The
Ohio
State
University
in
June
2012
with
a
Bachelors
Degree
in
Social
Work
and
a
minor
in
Human
Development
and
Family
Sciences.
A
month
before
that
she
had
given
birth
to
her
rst
child,
Kyla.
She
then
decided
to
pursue
her
Masters
Degree
that
same
month
in
Social
Work
at
The
Ohio
State
University
with
a
clinical
concentraGon.
Creshonda
has
volunteered
at
Franklin
County
Childrens
Services,
Huckleberry
House,
The
SalvaGon
Army,
and
the
Mid-Ohio
Foodbank.
She
has
interned
at
St.
Vincents
Family
Center
in
her
undergraduate
career
gaining
experience
in
Child
Mental
Health.
UlGmately,
Creshonda
hopes
to
aYain
her
PhD
in
Social
Work
with
her
research
focused
on
human
tracking. Stephanie
is
currently
the
School
Social
Work
intern
for
the
7th
and
8th
grade
at
KIPP
Journey
Academy.
Stephanie
is
a
master's
student
at
The
Ohio
State
University
social
work
school
in
an
expedited
program
focused
on
school
social
work.
She
graduated
in
2008
from
Wright
State
University
with
a
major
in
social
work
and
a
minor
in
psychology,
where
she
was
in
the
NaGonal
Honors
Society
for
Social
Work
and
the
NaGonal
Honors
Society
for
psychology.
She
worked
with
military
populaGons
while
residing
in
Japan
from
2010-2012.
She
has
also
worked
with
other
populaGons
at
sites
such
as
The
Food
Bank
and
Fairborn
Primary
School.
SERVICES
We
will
be
helping
out
at
KIPP
this
year!
Our
role
at
KIPP
Journey
is
to
provide
social
work
services
to
both
our
students
and
our
families.
We
are
here
to
help
both
you
and
your
child
on
various
issues
that
may
arise
during
their
Gme
at
KIPP.
These
services
include
but
are
not
limited
to:
Help
students
to
cope
in
a
Gme
of
crisis
Help
students
become
successful
learners
Assist
teachers
in
meeGng
the
educaGonal
outcomes
of
their
students.
Assist
teachers
in
discovering
new
resources
for
their
students
Support
parents/families
parGcipate
in
their
childs
educaGon.
Support
the
parents
in
understanding
their
childs
educaGon
and
developmental
needs.
Serve
as
liaison
between
the
school
and
outside
support
agencies.
We will be helping ou t at KIPP this year! Our role at KIPP Journey is to provide social work services to both our students and our fam ilies. We are here to help both you and your child on various issues that may arise during the ir time at KIPP.

Who: Families currently living in 43201, 43211, 43219, 43224, 43229, 43230, 43231, 43081 When is sign up: Monday, December 10th, 5-7 PM What is provided: a holiday meal and one new toy, ages 14 and younger What should I bring: Valid picture Id for every adult over the age of 18 and Proof of residency for all adults and children within household QUESTIONS? Who: KIPPsters in need of new glasses When: These students will be attending a trip to LensCrafters on Tuesday, December 11th What is happening: 28 students are going on a eld trip to LensCrafters to receive eye examinations and new glasses (these students were identied previously by teachers and permission slips were sent home) THANK YOU, Ms. Lockett, for organizing and coordinating such a wonderful opportunity for our KIPPsters!
PARENTS, please keep in mind that LensCrafters will replace glasses for free for students who have an EXISTING prescription that we can submit to them The vision screenings that we are doing for Operation 20/20 happen only during the holidays Glasses Replacement is YEAR ROUND!
