Case 13: Dilemma of an HR Manager

1. How to attract brilliant engineers to the industry? Answers: 1) As we have discussed that to meet the growing demands of manpower, in the started stage company has to recruit the engineers. But now days the engineers have better and multi opportunities so they prefer to go with their best opportunities. To overcome this situatation the EAIL has to offer that much salary which IT industry is providing. They also tried to provide best facilities to them. But due to this their effort indirectly distracted the other departments.

As per my view the solutions are: To rise above the companys first try should be increase the salary in a similar way for all departments and try to provide the similar services to other department also. Save the engineer time and energy from having to go to multiple sources for parts and components. The other things like the working hours should be fixed for this department and the challenging tasks should be given to them so them satisfactory ratio should be increased

Or the another solution is that they should provide the training of computers and another technology to those people whom have no IT background but though they have that much interest and capability for this field. Provide them easy to find technical information which should be complete and preferable. Provide those peers which are more experienced and knowledgeable for company.

2. How to keep the engineers motivated on their job? Answer: As we know In EAIL the engineers are less motivated and they are also offered less facilities.

For motivating them we should fulfill their needs. Their needs are Salary same as IT industry, flexible working hours, social acceptances, growth, challenging task etc. They are also comparing this industry with other industries. By changing this type of nature or diverting this with fulfilling them all requirements we can provide them higher level motivation.

By providing them all resources of information which they require and also all technological help and equipments they need.

The way is that by arranging meetings and discussions we can know about them goals and needs. Arrange the activities related them topics and do debate on that.

All these things can motivate them but Money is more motivating factor in any industry so by assuming high pay in any company attract the developers and the second way is the higher accommodations or facilities can attract and motivate and give satisfactory the employees. So they neither tried to compare themselves with IT industry.

3. Is it advisable to pay different rates of pay for people in different departments? Answer: This type of arrangement, where 02 types of work with 2 different pay rates can be permissible. calculated. The problem that typically arises is how work pay rate is

Where the same duties are performed, employees are entitled to the same rate of pay. Different rates of pay can only apply if this is based on different lengths of service which are reflected under different salary scales, annual increments or other conditions of employment, provided that such salary scales have a maximum that is achieved within a specified period of time.

We can pay different rates to employees of different departments. Though it is not reliable but we have to do that. Because now a days mentally work is more countable than the physically load.

If there are many employees with different departments but IT developers have to do more work in a less time while the others have more burden but the developer can be paid more. These things depend on their working hours, their work ,degree etc. If the employees do overtime they should be paid more or another reimbursement so it makes them happy. So yes it advisable to pay different rates of pay for people in different departments.

4. How Everest Auto Industry could overcome the problems with respect to service conditions? Is it possible for them to introduce a system like, flexible working hours, etc? Answer: For Everest Auto Industry they need computer developers for their work but while recruiting those IT industries are became competitors of them. Because In IT industry they are paid more salary than this. Their works counted on hours and provided various facilities, social acceptances, growth, challenging task etc. If they are providing all these in HRM it becomes issue for other departments and it is unsolved until. So to overcome these flexible working hours is the good system for Everest Auto Industry.

Flexible scheduling has become a common benefit and it attracts the employees who want to do part time or overtime jobs. Its beneficial for both company and employees. Company will pay as per their working hours. Employers are concerned that employee relations could be damaged by having to decide between broader ranges of requests for flexible working. Yes it is possible for them to make this type of system and they will get benefits as shown below:

1) Greater staff loyalty and higher return on training investment and a better match in workloads and staffing. 2) Reduced staff turnover and improved productivity 3) Reduced stress levels and improved morale
