We, the members of the Drake University Student Senate, in accordance with our duties and bylaws, do hereby pledge our support for the organization Bulldog Swing Society and grant them all the rights and privileges of a full University organization. In the Drake University Student Senate 15 November 2012

MOTION SS [121115] A; Bulldog Swing Society Approval To approve the recommendation made by the Student Affairs Committee (SAC), in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Drake University Student Senate. 1. Whereas, it is the duty of the Student Senate to confirm the approval of new organizations at Drake University; Whereas, Bulldog Swing Society has fulfilled all the necessary requirements to be an organization at Drake University; Whereas, the purpose of the organization is to educate students at Drake about swing dance and the swing culture; Whereas, Bulldog Swing Society has worked in collaboration with other organizations on campus to share swing dance and culture; Whereas, the organization seeks to provide a fun, social, and safe environment for both students and the surrounding community to come learn and enjoy the culture of the dance; Whereas, there are currently over eleven members and the organization is looking to recruit additional participation; Whereas, Bulldog Swing Society is open to any and all students at Drake University; Whereas, the organization has sustainability plans in place to pass along leadership at Drake University;

Now, therefore, be it Moved. That Bulldog Swing Society be recognized as a full and official organization of the Student Senate, with all the rights and privileges thereof.

We, the members of the Drake University Student Senate, in accordance with our duties and bylaws, do hereby pledge our support for the organization Dogtown After Hours and grant them all the rights and privileges of a full University organization. In the Drake University Student Senate 15 November 2012

MOTION SS [121115] B; Dogtown After Hours Approval To approve the recommendation made by the Student Affairs Committee (SAC), in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Drake University Student Senate. 1. Whereas, it is the duty of the Student Senate to confirm the approval of new organizations at Drake University; Whereas, Dogtown After Hours has fulfilled all the necessary requirements to be an organization at Drake University; Whereas, the mission of the organization is to engage the entire Drake University campus in an alcohol-alternative program; Whereas, Dogtown After Hours is a student-driven initiative that strives to encourage engagement among all organizations and students; Whereas, the organization seeks to create an exciting and safe weekend event; Whereas, the organization has successfully put on large-scale programming at Drake in the past; Whereas, there are currently four members and the organization is looking to recruit additional participation; Whereas, Dogtown After Hours is open to any and all students at Drake University; Whereas, the organization has sustainability plans in place to pass along leadership at Drake University;

Now, therefore, be it Moved. That Dogtown After Hours be recognized as a full and official organization of the Student Senate, with all the rights and privileges thereof.

We, the members of the Drake University Student Senate, in accordance with our duties and bylaws, do hereby pledge our support for the organization Drake Club Baseball and grant them all the rights and privileges of a full University organization. In the Drake University Student Senate 15 November 2012

MOTION SS [121115] C; Drake Club Baseball Approval To approve the recommendation made by the Student Affairs Committee (SAC), in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Drake University Student Senate. 1. Whereas, it is the duty of the Student Senate to confirm the approval of new organizations at Drake University; Whereas, Drake Club Baseball has fulfilled all the necessary requirements to be an organization at Drake University; Whereas, the purpose of the organization is to unify students of similar interests, through athletics; Whereas, Drake Club Baseball will hold practices, and schedule games to imitate a normal varsity level athletic team; Whereas, the organization seeks to bring the sport of baseball back to Drakes campus; Whereas, the organization has plans in place to establish a proper team and sustain participation; Whereas, Drake Club Baseball is open to any and all students at Drake University; Whereas, the organization has sustainability plans in place to pass along leadership at Drake University;

We, the members of Drake University Student Senate, in an effort to support programming that improves student life, to better the experience of Drake University students, and to provide a memorable experience to students, do hereby move that $940.00 be allocated to Rainbow Union to cover lodging, registration, and transportation costs associated with the Midwest Bisexual Lesbian Gay Transgender Ally College Conference. In the Drake University Student Senate 15 November 2012

MOTION SS [121115] D; Rainbow Union Midwest Bisexual Lesbian Gay Transgender Ally College Conference Funding Allocation To approve the recommendation made by the Student Fees Allocation Committee (SFAC), in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Drake University Student Senate. 1. Whereas, the mission of Rainbow Union is to provide a welcoming and confidential safe space to all students: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Straight Allies, Transgender and those questioning their sexuality and/or gender identity; Whereas, the Midwest Bisexual Lesbian Gay Transgender Ally College Conference will occur from February 8th-10th in Lansing, Michigan; Whereas, Rainbow Union will send ten (10) students to attend the conference; Whereas, the students chosen to attend consist of four (4) executive council members and six (6) other members; Whereas, conference attendees will represent Drake University; Whereas, attendees will attend workshops about queer issues which can be brought back to Drake and improve Rainbow Unions campus-wide programming; Whereas, Student Senate has provided funding for this conference since 2004;

Now, therefore, be it Moved. That, Drake University Student Senate allocates $940.00 to Rainbow Union to cover lodging, registration, and transportation costs associated with the Midwest Bisexual Lesbian Gay Transgender Ally College Conference.

We, the members of Drake University Student Senate, in an effort to support programming that improves student life, to better the experience of Drake University students, and to provide a memorable experience to students, do hereby move that $1596.36 be allocated to the Student Activities Board to cover transportation, lodging, and registration costs associated with National Association of Campus Activities (NACA) Regional Conference. MOTION SS [121115] E; Student Activities Board NACA Regional Conference Funding Allocation To approve the recommendation made by the Student Fees Allocation Committee (SFAC), in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Drake University Student Senate. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Whereas, the mission of the Student Activities Board (SAB) is to serve the student body by providing quality entertainment and educational programs; Whereas, the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA) Regional Conference will occur from April 4th-7th, 2013 in St. Paul, Minnesota; Whereas, the convention provides a venue for university programming boards such as SAB to view and book artists and performers it brings to campus; Whereas, SAB experiences a financial benefit by being able to book artists and performers at a discounted rate; Whereas, SABs attendance at this convention is critical to bringing modern and exciting entertainment to campus; Whereas, the president of SAB will attend the conference; Whereas, three (3) other members of SAB will attend the conference; Whereas, Student Senate has provided funding for this convention every year since 2004;

Now, therefore, be it Moved. That, Drake University Student Senate allocates $1596.36 to the Student Activities Board to cover transportation, lodging, and registration costs associated with the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA) Regional Conference.

We, the members of Drake University Student Senate, in an effort to support programming that improves student life, to better the experience of Drake University students, and to provide a memorable experience to students, do hereby move that $3184.80 be allocated to the Student Activities Board to cover transportation, lodging, and registration costs associated with the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA) National Conference. MOTION SS [121115] F; Student Activities Board NACA National Conference Funding Allocation To approve the recommendation made by the Student Fees Allocation Committee (SFAC), in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Drake University Student Senate. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Whereas, the mission of the Student Activities Board is to serve the student body by providing quality entertainment and educational programs; Whereas, the NACA National Conference will occur from February 16 th-20th, 2012 in Nashville, Tennessee; Whereas, the convention provides a venue for university programming boards such as SAB to view and book artists and performers it brings to campus; Whereas, the SAB experiences a financial benefit by being able to book artists and performers at a discounted price; Whereas, SABs attendance at this convention is critical to bringing modern and exciting entertainment to campus; Whereas, the president of SAB will attend the conference; Whereas, three (3) other members of SAB will attend the conference; Whereas, Student Senate has provided funding for this conference every year since 2004;

Now, therefore, be it Moved. That, Drake University Student Senate allocates $3,184.80 to the Student Activities Board to cover transportation, lodging, and registration costs associated with the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA) National Conference.

We, the members of Drake University Student Senate, in an effort to support programming that improves student life, to better the experience of Drake University students, and to provide a memorable experience to students, do hereby move that $1,000.00 be allocated to Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) to cover transportation costs associated with SEEK 2013 Conference. MOTION SS [121115] G; FOCUS SEEK Conference Funding Allocation To approve the recommendation made by the Student Fees Allocation Committee (SFAC), in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Drake University Student Senate. 1. Whereas, the mission of Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) is inviting college students into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and his Church, inspiring and equipping them for a lifetime of evangelization, discipleships, and friendships in which they lead others to do the same; Whereas, Seek 2013 will occur on January 2nd-6th, 2013 in Orlando, Florida; Whereas, students have already fundraised over $11,000.00 to fund the cost of the trip Whereas, the National Conference will provide an opportunity for students to experience spiritual wellness and deepen their faith Whereas, over fifty (50) students are going to the conference, with more signing up
