. Coca cola is an MNC (Multi National Corporation) with affiliates in around 200 countries. One of its affiliates, Coco Cola India which along with earning huge profits, is also commended for its contribution in
India toward its efforts in community development. Coca-Cola India has won the coveted Golden Peacock Award three times in a row for CSR. Over the years, Coca-Cola India has supported community programs with a focus on education, health and water conservation. The Company has commissioned 400 rainwater harvesting systems, provided clean drinking water to more than 100 schools, supported school projects and driven reform in sustainable packaging, disaster relief and rehabilitation. As a responsible corporate, Coca-Cola India has always placed high value on good citizenship. The company provides extensive support for community programs across the country, with a focus on education, health and water conservation. In the area of Water Conservation, Coca-Cola India has commissioned over 500 RWH structures with a recharge capacity of 500 crore liters in 20 states, touching over 1 million people. The Company also organized Health Camps in urban slum and rural areas in several parts of country, which benefited over 40000 women and children.

sustainability. In 2008, it saved 8,019,589 kWhours of energy, 293,026 m3 of natural gas, 522,113kg of LPG and prevented 4,510tons of CO2 emissions. They delivered the same amount of product on 10% less truck movement, thus reducing CO2 emissions caused by transportation by 22%. Their figures have been improving ever since.

This partnership has also ensured sustainable use of water resource by undertaking rainwater harvesting projects at 39 SOS locations spread across the country. It has also helped improving the awareness on water conservation and artificial recharge of ground water. Coca-Cola is one of the
few companies in India to have made any contribution to recharging groundwater in India and uses less water, more efficiently, than many other industries in India.
CONCLUSION
