Conservation of Species Poster Project Conservation is the preservation, protection, or restoration of the natural environment, natural ecosystems, vegetation,

and wildlife. It is important for each generation to help conserve the environment and help maintain the biodiversity of ecosystems. For this project you will be choosing one endangered species to research. This endangered species can be either a plant or an animal. You will research this organism then create a poster to present your research. While doing research I would like you to find the following information: Describe your endangered species. Include information about about the habitat it lives in, any predators that the organism might have, the climate that the organism requires and any other information that you think is important to share. What has happened to lead to the endangered status of your organism? Think about this about this in terms of human impact on the ecosystem and organism. Use the information we have learned about human population growth, water and air pollution, pesticide and fertilizer use, deforestation and greenhouse gas production to help explain what has lead to this endangered status. What are some steps that we can take to help conserve your endangered species? Research specific steps that humans can take to help improve the status of your organism. Use pages 334-335 in the textbook to get you started. Remember, some of these steps might indirectly impact your organism.

Use this information to create a poster. Your poster needs to be neatly done and interesting to look at. Make sure that you include a picture of your organism as well as other pictures that help support your research. Include information from each of the three areas listed above but focus your poster on the reasons your organism is considered endangered as well as the steps that can be taken to help with the conservation of your species. Please make sure to site your sources where necessary, plagiarism is not acceptable. You can attach a list of sources to your poster or site your sources in your text.
