Pray through Gods Story (Week 23)

Focus on God
Meditate on the uniqueness of God. Answer the question, What makes God unlike any other? O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven or on earth, keeping covenant and showing steadfast love to your servants who walk before you with all their heart, who have kept with your servant David my father what you declared to him. You spoke with your mouth, and with your hand have fulfilled it this day. (2 Chronicles 6:14-15) Sing Gods praises and proclaim his steadfast love. When the song was raised, with trumpets and cymbals and other musical instruments, in praise to the Lord, For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever, the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God. (1 Kings 5:13-14)

Respond from the Heart

Confess any known sins and ask for Gods forgiveness. Thank him for the forgiveness he granted through the Lord Jesus. And listen to the pleas of your servant and of your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. And listen from heaven your dwelling place, and when you hear, forgive. (2 Chronicles 6:21)

Seek First the Kingdom

Pray for Gods kingdom to be demonstrated inside Filipino homes. The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord! (Psalm 146:10) Pray for unreached people groups to become also a worshipping people. Likewise, when a foreigner, who is not of your people Israel, comes from a far country for the sake of your great name and your mighty hand and your outstretched arm, when he comes and prays toward this house, hear from heaven your dwelling place and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to you, in order that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your people Israel, and that they may know that this house that I have built is called by your name. (2 Chronicles 6:32-33)

Present Your Requests

Ask for something you dont deserve to receive, praying according to his mercy and through Jesus name. But will God indeed dwell with man on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you, how much less this house that I have built! Yet have regard to the prayer of your servant and to his plea, O Lord my God, listening to the cry and to the prayer that your servant prays before you. (2 Chronicles 6:18-19)

Thank God for some specific help you receive from him this week. Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever. (Psalm 146:5-6)
