MiniUsage

Introduction
MiniUsage displays various data like CPU usage, amount of network ow, battery status and process names which uses much CPU time in a menubar. It takes little space and can display various data, so it's suitable for notebook. While the application is running, this information can be referred via AppleScript.

Install
Copy the app to any folder.

How to Use
When it's launched, it displays CPU usage, amount of network ow or battery status on menubar. When it's clicked, it shows a menu and displays more detailed data. If the process is normal application program, the app can be activated by choosing process name menu. Each process can be terminated by choosing "Quit" menu. If normal terminate action is not working, it can execute force quit by choosing "Force Quit"menu. Please note that the editing date can be lost by "Force Quit". If the process isn't executed with

user privilege, root password is required to execute the menu. ("Force Quit" isn't available with MacAppStore version.) If CPU usage, amount of network ow, battery status or disk read/write is chosen via menu, the selected data will be displayed on menubar. If any application name is selected, the selected application is be activated. Multiple information can be displayed on menubar by pressing command key and choosing each menu. Detailed information of each process will be displayed as it's submenu. "Real Memory" and "Virtual Memory" will be displayed only if "Check Memory Stats" is checked. (Only on MacOSX10.6.x) If "Check Memory Stats" is checked, the app checks memory statistics of each process and displays it. If it's on, MiniUsage (To be precise, "top" process which is sub-process of MiniUsage) uses more CPU time. On my environment for example, it occupies 0.8% with "OFF" state and occupies 3.6% with "ON" state. (This option is only available on MacOSX10.6.x) The data type which should be displayed on menubar can be selected via "Data Type to Display" item. If "Toggle" is selected, selected data will be displayed on menubar by turns. The interval to refresh each data can be determined via "Refresh Time" menu. Number of processes to be displayed in menu can be determined via "Number of Processes" menu. Those information can be gotten via AppleScript. Please refer to attached sample scripts.
