Luke 20:9-19 MW tut 1

Joe Yi Mr. Franck Theo 1, G October 8, 2012 Luke 20:9-19 Jesus tells the people a parable. It was about a vineyard owner who let these people rent it. During harvest he sent his servant three different times to get some food but they were all beat up and sent back empty handed. So the vineyard owner decided to send his son. The people who rented the place knew if they killed the son maybe the inheritance would come to them so they killed the son. This parable is basically about God sending down His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to the Earth and we killed Him. God had given us this land of Israel to the people so that they can live there by his name. But instead people only saw themselves and started to think humanly then Godly. God sent many warnings to the people but they rejected all of them. So finally God sent his one and only Son as his last warning towards us. Jesus also tells the leaders The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone? When the chief priests heard this they were going to arrest Jesus because they knew he was talking about them and they felt guilty but they were afraid of the people just like it was written on the bible. I think this is very true not only in this sense but others. God has been constantly sending, human as a whole and me personally, some warnings that we seem to reject or things that we tend to miss. Were humans and that is very possible but we should be paying more attention.

Also since we know now that it was Jesus is the Son of God and God is the vineyard owner we should respect and honor him. We know the mistakes that our ancestors have made so we shouldnt make the same mistake. Instead of rejecting and throwing him out, we should welcome Him because the bible says once you believe I my son you will become my sons and daughters of heaven. If we accept Him the vineyard will be given to us. Our human tendency is to always want more and do the things we want to do. In simple of terms we are selfish and rejecting the things that had been ordered by God. Now we know that God has been sending us warnings and we didnt hear them, now we should open our ears and here what he has to say because it is good for us. Do not try to get the vineyard in a hurtful and ungodly way because if we are patient, loving, sharing, and accept the Son then the vineyard will be ours. Open your ears and let the words of God flow in. Be Godly not unjust. Do not be selfcentered and know who is in charge. Believe and accept the Lord instead of rejecting him. Share the wealth because the Lord has given it all. Take care of them because one day they will become ours.

Luke 20:9-19 NIV

9

He went on to tell the people this parable: A man planted a vineyard, rented it to some farmers

and went away for a long time. 10 At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants so they would give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the tenants beat him and sent him away emptyhanded. 11 He sent another servant, but that one also they beat and treated shamefully and sent away empty-handed. 12 He sent still a third, and they wounded him and threw him out.
13

Then the owner of the vineyard said, what shall I do? I will send my son, whom I love;

perhaps they will respect him.

14

But when the tenants saw him, they talked the matter over. This is the heir, they said. Lets

kill him, and the inheritance will be ours. 15 So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and kill those tenantsand give the vineyard to others. When the people heard this, they said, God forbid!
17

Jesus looked directly at them and asked, Then what is the meaning of that which is written:

The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone [a]?
18

Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be

crushed.

19

The teachers of the law and the chief priests looked for a way to arrest him immediately,

because they knew he had spoken this parable against them. But they were afraid of the people.
