PRAYER AND PRAISE

Please pray that the Kindergarten would quickly receive the required approvals to be eligible for the 20 sponsored hours from the government. Praise the Lord for how He has raised up new leaders and ministers in our congregation. Please pray that He would anoint these volunteers, and richly bless the ministries that they are a part of. Please pray that the renovations to our facility would move ahead with excellence, and would end up being considerably under budget. Please pray for God's hand of blessing in the establishment of two upcoming ministries: 'The Playroom' Cafe and the 'Mainly Music' program. Both of these ministries are slated to begin shortly after the Kindy opens, and their leadership needs God's wisdom, guidance, and favour. Please pray that the Lord would lead and comfort the McGowan family as they learn to live with Aspergers. Continue to pray for protection of national believers and international workers in several African and Middle Eastern countries where violent protests have taken place. Also, pray that many people in these nations will come to know the Prince of Peace.

Are you new to this facility?

We know that it can take a lot of energy to attend a new church, so please note that: The Childrens Ministry begins part way through the service. This is for children between the ages of 3 13 years. Information on who we are, as well as on all of our ministries are available online at www.whac.net.nz Each week, we share a cuppa together after the service, and would love for you to stay for a chat.

Helping people move from brokenness to wholeness in Christ The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed Psalm 34:18

Thank you for joining us today and you are warmly invited to stay and enjoy some morning tea.

NEWS
The Annual Alliance Celebration! On October 14th, there will not be a service at WHAC as we will be joining CMA people from across Auckland for our annual combined worship service - this year at Blockhouse Bay Community Church in honour of the Alliance's 40th anniversary in NZ! To make this easier on everybody, a bus has been hired to transport our people to and from the service, and will be leaving WHAC at 9:30 for the 10:00 service.

At WHAC, we exist to help people move from brokenness to wholeness in Jesus Christ, and it's our firm belief that that continuing journey, much like our regular lives, has a few important building blocks along the way... First is our birth, or entrance into God's family. Jesus called this being born again, and it's the new start that comes as we ask God to forgive us and to make Jesus the Lord of our lives. As babies in any family, we need love, support, nurture and care. At WHAC, that primarily happens through caring networks that happen over morning tea and in our home groups so that here "nobody stands alone". The next step in any life is to start growing in our knowledge of the world and of God. But, "I can't grow for you", and as such, we encourage people to join us Sunday mornings, in one of our growth groups, or in one of our new block courses. As we continue to mature, it's important to realize that "If it's going to be, it's up to me" because God made you unique for a unique purpose. As such, it's important to discover your gifts, and to start using them in His service. Finally, as adults, we seek to pour out our lives for the benefit of those we love. As believers, we seek to pour out our lives as living sacrifices in an act of worship to God, where we put "All that I am and all that I have" at His disposal to be used for His glory, His will, and in His way. It might be interesting for you to place yourself on this growth journey to see what new challenges are next for you, or to see what needs revisiting as we walk together towards wholeness in Christ.

If you would like to talk to or pray with an Elder, we encourage you to make yourself known to one of the The Global Fusion Fundraiser Worship Team and they will assist you. On October 27th, a fabulous fundraising dinner is being held at

Blockhouse Bay Community Church to further the work of global missions. Tickets are free to this event but are in short supply. So, please sign up at the back table, and be prepared to make a generous contribution to support the Christian Radio Station in Tonga, and other fields in the Asia-Pacific region. Stars Party at Westgate Baptist For years now, the combined Massey area churches have come together to bless the community with a community carnival called "Stars Party", and with over 2,000 people expected to come, we'll need some help! Volunteer sign up sheets will be made available in early October, but in the mean time, please be collecting good-quality used children's clothing for the clothing give-away. A box will be provided in the foyer. Worship CDs If you have ordered a worship CD in the past few weeks, please note that this fabulous collection of music is now available, once again, at a cost of $10 per CD (one CD per household please).
