Remove Hydraulic Pump

Release the pressure from the hydraulic system before any lines are removed or disconnected.

VIEW FROM UNDER THE MACHINE

1. Disconnect two hydraulic lines (1) from the bottom of the hydraulic pump.

2. Loosen two hose clamps (3). 3. Remove the bolts, elbow (2) and the O-ring seal.

4. Loosen hose clamp (5) and remove tube (4). 5. Remove the two bolts and access panel.

6. Install tooling (A) and fasten a hoist to the pump. Remove the two bolts that hold the pump in position. 7. Pull the pump back and down to disconnect it from the flywheel housing.

8. Remove hydraulic pump (6). The weight of the hydraulic pump is 120 lb. (54 kg).

Install Hydraulic Pump

1. Make sure the O-ring seal is in position on the pump. 2. Put the pump in position. Make an alignment of the splines on the shaft of the pump with the splines in the gear in the flywheel housing. 3. Install the two bolts that hold the pump in position.

4. Remove tooling (A) from the pump.

5. Make sure the O-ring seal is in position in elbow (1). Put the elbow in position and install the bolts.

6. Put pipe (2) in position. Connect the rubber hose and tighten the hose clamp.

7. Put hose (3) in position and tighten hose clamps (4).

8. Make sure the O-ring seals are in position. Connect two lines (5) to the bottom of the pump.

Disassemble Hydraulic Pump

start by: a) remove hydraulic pump

1. Remove the bolts and cover (1).

2. Remove O-ring seal (3) and seal (5). 3. Remove O-ring seal (2) and back-up seal (4).

4. Remove the small cartridge (6).

5. Remove O-ring seal (7). 6. Remove body (8), the shaft and large cartridge as a unit.

7. Remove large cartridge (9) from the shaft.

8. Remove spiral lockring (10) and the shaft assembly.

9. Remove snap ring (13) with tool (A). 10. Remove bearing (11) from shaft (12).

11. Remove thrust washer (14).

12. Remove two lip type seals (15). NOTE: Steps 13-20 show the disassembly of the large cartridge. The same procedure can be used for the small cartridge.

13. Make an identification of the direction of the arrows nearest bolts (18). The arrow on the flat on ring (16) will be in the same direction as the arrows nearest bolts (18). 14. Remove bolts (18) and plate (17).

15. Remove seal retainers (19) and the O-ring seals.

16. Remove plate (20) from the cartridge.

17. Remove ring (16) and rotor assembly (21).

18. Remove vane (23) and insert (24) from rotor (22).

19. Remove plate (25).

20. Remove seal retainers (26) and O-ring seals.

Assemble Hydraulic Pump

1. Clean and inspect all parts. Make a replacement of all parts that are worn or damaged. Put a small amount of clean hydraulic oil on all seals and machined surfaces. NOTE: Steps 2-11 show the assembly of the large cartridge. The same procedure can be used for the small cartridge.

2. Install back-up ring (1) and O-ring seal (2).

3. Put seal retainers (3) and the O-ring seals in position on end plate (4).

4. Install plate (5) with the grooved side toward the rotor.

5. Put inserts (8) and vanes (7) in position in rotor (6).

6. Install ring (9) on the plate. The arrow on the flat on ring (9) must be in the same direction as the rotation of the pump shaft. NOTE: The sharp edge of the vanes must be toward the direction of the arrow on the ring.

7. Use bolts (10) to make an alignment of the bolt holes in the ring with the threads in the end plate. 8. Remove bolts (10).

9. Put plate (11) with the grooved side toward the rotor in position.

10. Put the O-ring seals and seal retainers (12) in position.

11. Put plate (13) in position and make an alignment of the bolt holes with bolt holes in the ring. 12. Install the bolts. The arrows nearest the bolts must be in the same direction as the arrow on ring (9).

13. Install the lip type seal with tool (B) in body (14) with the spring loaded lip toward the inside of the pump.

14. Install the lip type seal with tool (B) as shown.

15. Put thrust washer (15) in position in the body. 16. Put seal (16) and O-ring seal (17) in position.

17. Put bearing (18) in position on shaft (20). Install snap ring (19) with tool (A).

18. Install shaft assembly (21) in the body.

19. Put cartridge (22) in position on the shaft.

20. Install the large cartridge and body into cover (23). 21. Make an alignment of dowels (24) with the holes in cover (23).

22. Put O-ring seal (25) in position on the body.

23. Install back-up ring (28) and O-ring seal (29). 24. Install seal (26). 25. Put small cartridge (27) in position. Make an alignment of the dowels in cartridge (27) with the holes in the cover.

26. Install O-ring seal (30).

27. Install cover (32) and bolts (31). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 265 10 lb.ft. (360 14 Nm).
