NEWS/ACTUALITIES Zimbabwe: Gay Couple Arrested A suspected gay couple, one of whom was wearing female apparel including a skirt, wig and blouse has been arrested in Kadoma. The couple confessed after a body search by policemen that one of them was not a "woman." The fact that many African countries criminalise same-sex unions means that in most instances, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTI) people have had to migrate to environments that accept them. This partly explains why in Southern Africa, LGBTI people have migrated to South Africa, whose progressive constitution

allows same sex marriages.
