RATIONALE Basic Life Support This seminar aims to equip participants with knowledge, skills and confidence to perform management to a person whose breathing and heartbeat suddenly stopped. The trainings include lecture and demonstration on performing foreign airway obstruction management, rescue breathing and CPR.

First Aid

The courses aim to equip participants with knowledge, skills and confidence in providing care for a person who has been injured or suddenly become ill. The trainings include lecture and demonstration on bandaging techniques, emergency transfers and common emergencies.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION Natural and man-made disasters are frequently experienced by people all around the world and this has been attributed to global warming. The effects of global warming spare no one thus everybody should prepare to avoid the ill effects of disasters especially the loss of lives.

The Municipality of New Lucena created a Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council to spearhead activities that would help mitigate if not prevent occurrence of disasters. One of the said planned activities is the capability building which include basic life support training for health personnel and other potential rescuers. This training will equip the participants the knowledge and skills to respond to emergency cases and reduce morbidity and mortality especially in times of calamities/disasters.
