Topics of the Day


Determine Candidates for Officers o Co-President--- Marc Tyler Hunt, Henry Engelmeyer, Ace Franklin o Vice President--- 2nd place from Presidential candidates o Secretary---Kristen Phipps, Madi Hoefer o Treasurer--- Amanda Yauch o 2 Officers will also have to attend Student Senate meetings that are scheduled for the first Monday of every month First Student Senate meeting--- Tuesday Sept 4 Fall Events and Fundraisers o Art in The Park (AIP)
Description: An event in Island Park organized by the Winfield Arts and Humanities Council where artists and craftsman may display their creations to be sold with no percentage taken out of the artists profits. Entries should be polished, paintings/drawings are framed, matted, and have hanging system. 3D work should not wobble and should have protective packaging for safe transportation. Typed labels should also be included with pieces indicating title of work, artist, medium, and price.

Cowley Entry Deadline---Friday Sept 14 Show your entries to Mike or Mark by this date Welcome Ceremony---Friday Oct 5 Art in the Park event---Saturday Oct 6 We can also include face painting during the event to make money o Gallery Showing in Winfield
Description: After AIP the art pieces that have not been sold are shown in the Winfield Art and Humanities Council Office for one month.

Set up---Sunday Oct 7 or Monday Oct 8 Consider Gallery Opening Day o Window Painting for Arkalalah
Description: This years theme for Arkalalah is Team USA, so well have to start planning design ideas that businesses could consider on their shop windows during the week of Arkalalah. The price depends on the dimensions of the painting. The fall festival is Oct 24-27, so well have to paint these a week or so in advance and talk to businesses on Summit two weeks in advance.

Talk to businesses---Monday Oct 8 Do not go to Double Eagle! Paint Windows--- Monday Oct 12-23 (gives us two weekends) o Chicago Trip Presented by Mark Week of the Oct 31 (More information to come)

o Chili Bowl Feed


Description: Cowley Art Students throw and glaze bowls that people will purchase and receive a serving of chili to consume. Bowls are priced based on aesthetic value. Need help with throwing? Ask for lessons from Henry, Mike, Alex, Amanda, Kiefer, or John.

When Glazing be sure to first wax the feet of each bowl, log glazes used, and do not exceed the thickness of a dime (about 4 coats) when applying glaze. Sign all pieces for credit! And make sure that the clearly read that they are for the Art Club Chili Bowl Feed by marking with an AC or Art Club. We want to get together 100-150 bowls this year! o Final Friday in Wichita Students can display their work to the Wichita market in a gallery showing during the monthly art crawl. Display what you think is best and will sell! Likely to be organized for Oct 26 or November 30 o General Fundraising Ideas? We could have an ornament sale for Christmas, bake sale, chalk event, tie-dye event, shades decorating event, moustache ring sale, address curb painting, famous paintings in frosting on cookies, bleaching designs in T-shirts, graffiti contest between clubs Always be thinking of new ideas!
