PRAYER AND PRAISE

Pray that the parents - both soon to be and well established - at WHAC would be filled with wisdom and love for their children. Pray that the Lord would raise up the perfect Head Teacher for our childcare, and that those in leadership would recognise His choosing. Praise the Lord for the 26 people who received Christ as Saviour during the Alliance Ministry trip to Tonga. Please pray Barry Thomas' parents. His mother has just recently come home from hospital, but his dad is currently fighting a virus. Pray also for the family, as they seek to care for them. Please pray for Frazer Noble as he works to complete his PhD studies in the coming months. Pray for Gods blessing on a tutoring ministry being developed by a local church in Indonesia. School has started in the area, and there will be many opportunities to help children in the community. Pray that God will use this outreach to draw children and parents to Him.

NEWS
Sunday School during the renovations We love our kids... we love your kids... and we want to keep them around as long as possible. And so, in the interest of th safety, from 12 August, Sunday School for ages 3-13 will be held at Phyllis Charlton's home (22 Tatyana Place) from 10:15am -11:45am. Parents are welcome to drop their children off, or to stay and help them settle for as long as necessary. Once the hall is safe for our kids, Sunday School (and Phyllis!) will return to the facility! Worship at WHAC The Psalms encourage us to sing new songs to the Lord... and we take that seriously at WHAC! To help us do that well, a New Music CD will be available ($10/each) in September for you to worship and listen and learn at home or on the beach, or even when you're doing the dishes!

Speaker: Matt Mordaunt

Thank you for joining us today and you are warmly invited to stay and enjoy some morning tea. If you would like to talk to or pray with an Elder, we encourage you to make yourself known to one of the Worship Team and they will assist you.

Renovation Update As you will have noticed, the renovations are well underway. It is unfortunate that during this time there will be some inconveniences that will need to be worked through. One of those things that will be affected will be the morning tea after the service. At the present moment, there are no kitchen facilities or running water, which, on the plus side, means that we won't have to do any dishes, but on the down side, means that our morning teas will be a bit lighter for the coming months. There are also no toilet facilities, but we have some port-a-loos available for the "wild at heart!"

MINISTRIES FOR CHILDREN at WHAC

Ages 37 Ages 8 13 Our Kids Club is divided into two groups, for age appropriate lessons. During the renovation period the Sunday School lessons will take place at Phyllis Charlton's home (22 Tatyana Place, Massey) from 10:15am 11:45am. All the children are invited to join in. We would like to thank parents for dropping off and picking up their children. If the children are more comfortable staying with their parents, they are also welcome to remain in the service.

Parachute 2013 Parachute has just announced a number of changes to the annual Parachute Music Festival in 2013. The first batch is now on sale so if you want to come to Parachute 2013 its best to get in early!! The current prices for a full weekend ticket are: Children (ages5-12) $65 Students (secondary and tertiary with a student ID) $104 Adults $124 Similar to last year we are planning a group from our church to go and will be combining a campsite with the other Alliance Churches/Alliance youth so if you are interested in going please see Sophie Thomas for more details asap as these prices are only applicable to the first 3000 tickets sold!!

Reorient: Prayer
Join us in the church 16th August, 7:30pm Focus: University Students

Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. (Luke 6:47-48) If you grew up in the church, you probably heard the parable of the man building his house on the rock and the man who built his house on the sand when you were in Sunday school. We can often focus on the foundation of the man whose house was built on the rock. He obeys the words of Jesus and his house stays up. We often tend to ignore that this man also goes through the storm. Both of these men go through the same storm, but there is a different outcome for these men. The only difference is their foundation.
