Allen ISD Spanish 2 Pre- AP / IB Online Course

This course will be designed for students that have already taken Spanish 1 in Allen ISD. This course will offer an opportunity to the students to continue developing Spanish skills that they have acquired throughout the Spanish 1 class, but in a virtual environment. In addition, this class will help the student to gain the necessary skills for the Spanish 3 Pre-AP / IB class and furthermore for the AP or IB exam. Module #1: What did I learn in Spanish 1?

Learning Objective #1: After completing the reading assignments and watching the videos presented in module 1, students will recall and recognize the major vocabulary words and verbs from Spanish 1 by taking an online assessment (quiz) through Quia with an accuracy of 90%. Blooms Taxonomy Category Knowledge (recall, recognize).

Activity: Students will read the reading assignments and will watch the review videos posted in the module by the instructor. Assessment: Students will take an online quiz through Quia.

Learning Objective #2: The students will demonstrate their writing skills by writing an introductory story in the target language and posting it on the discussion board. The students are expected to show mastery of verb conjugations in the present tense and adjective agreement in Spanish with an accuracy of 90%. In addition, the students will provide an audio recording through audio software of their choice with their introductory story in the target language with an accuracy of 90%. Blooms Taxonomy Category Synthesis (writing).

Activities: Introductory story in the target language (writing) Audio recording (audio software)

Assessment: Students will post their stories and their audio recordings on the discussion board for peer and instructor evaluation.

Learning Objective #3:

After completing the previous activities assigned in this module, the students will analyze and edit in the target language some of the readings that will be posted on the class' Wiki. The students are expected to show a mastery of 90%. Blooms Taxonomy Category Analysis (Analyze).

Activity: Read the assigned reading and make the necessary corrections in the target language.

Assessment: Students will receive feedback from their classmates and instructor using the class' Wiki.

Learning Objective #4: After completing the previous three assignments assigned in this module, students will summarize the activities presented throughout the learning module by creating an online blog in which they will use throughout the course. The first five reflections will be written in English. Therefore, students are expected to demonstrated 100% accuracy in their reflective-writing. Blooms Taxonomy Category Evaluation (summarize). Activity: Create an online blog. Write weekly reflections about the class work presented throughout the week. The first five reflective writing will be English. After that, the reflective writings will be written in the target language.

Assessment: Student will use the online blog as an online journal. Students will receive feedback from classmates and instructor.
