Set Induction (8 mins) 1. Tr shows Ss pictures of people suffering from malnutrition and a cartoon of a person suffering from obesity (Appendix 1). Tr asks Ss how they feel after seeing those pictures. Tr explains the meanings of malnutrition and obesity respectively. Note: i) Malnutrition means a poor condition of health caused by a lack of food or a lack of the right type of food. Note: Basically, there are 3 main classes. They are carbohydrate, fat and protein. The Food Guide Pyramid is one way for people to understand how to eat healthily. A balanced diet is one that includes all the food groups. In other words, have foods from every color, every day.

5. Ss listen and complete the task sheets as they listen to the dialogue the second time.

Post- listening (15 mins) 1. Tr goes through the answers with Ss. 2. Tr reads the relevant parts of the dialogue to Ss if they make mistakes with any of the questions. 3. Tr divides Ss into groups of 7. 4. Tr distributes mahjong paper to each group. 5. Each group draws the food pyramid on the mahjong paper, and then, labels it.
