Group Policy Health Check

Group Policy Management and Strategy is core to a healthy Active Directory. The successful implementation and management and maintenance of your Group Polices affect all aspects of the user experience and support of the desktop environment. This is designed to provide a full and complete Health Check & optimization and remediation review of your Group Policies Environment. This 3 Day Group Policy Health Check is a wide ranging and comprehensive review of your Group Policy Environment across your Enterprise.

Key Focus Areas:


1. Review the current health of your group policies 2. Inventory of Group Policies and all configured settings. 3. Discuss and identify particular pain points you are having with Group Polices around application delivery and administration 4. Discuss Backup & Disaster Recovery Plan for Group Policies. 5. Discussion of enhancements available now and in the future to your Group Policy environment e.g. AGPM Preferences. This service aims to cover all aspects of Group Polices broken down into: Administration and Process & Maintenance 1. Creation, delegation of administration. 2. Identify the most efficient ways of managing based upon our current best practices and documentation. 3. Identify inheritance issues. 4. Identify duplicates. 5. Identify the use of scripts, custom ADMS. 6. Identify corruptions and morphs. 7. Review linking & enablement across the Forest. 8. Review GPO security settings. 9. Review use of enforcement and blocked policy inheritance. 10. Identify empty GPOs. 11. Identify version mismatches. 12. Review use of loop back enablement. 13. Review GPO naming conventions.

14. Resultant set of policy (RSOP) & Userenv review & equivalent of up to 10 workstations. 15. Identify processes for change management around GPOs. 16. Discuss processes for deploying GPOs (IE test network availability, separate OU structure). 17. Identify ways of reducing Sysvol size (ADM and\or Central repository). 18. Discuss and review Organization Unit implementation. Strategic Review will contain: 1. Future technology implementation plans that may affect GPOs (implementing Terminal services etc.) 2. If you are running 2008 identify better ways of replication if possible from FRS (File replication Service). 3. Knowledge transfer of functionality of Group Policy Preferences. 4. Future management of GPOS using AGPM (Advanced Group Policy Management). 5. ADMX template migration challenges (if applicable). Advisories on creating a standard GPO in your environment. 6.
