cause of W.H.O by enlightening you all on the topic Ageing and health: Good heath adds years to life. The beauty of nature is best felt when its nourishment is at its peak to all its components. The green trees, the beautiful flowers, the pious rain, and the silent music of wind please us because their good heath reflects the happiness it possesses We, humans, the most divine creation of nature are at our best when our transient body runs efficiently without any fault It is well said that health is wealth. A sound mind resides in a healthy body. Our body is more or less a machine whose proper functioning is the prime requirement for obtaining any output from it. Any malfunctioning in our system completely disrupts all our works. Even a slight increase in body temperature poses a lot of trouble. So a major lock for happiness can be keyed if we take care of our health. WBCs in our body constantly work to keep our body immune. But their efficiency relies on our diet and habits. Proper maintenance of cleanliness, intake of nutritious food at regular intervals, avoiding unhealthy and oily food items, taking proper sleep and regular physical exercises helps our body to remain fit and fine. Cleanliness is must in order to keep antigens away from attacking our immune system. Taking bath regularly, brushing properly, taking care of cleanliness of nails, hair and keeping our surroundings clean not only adds to aesthetic beauty but is a big step to good health.

As a machine needs lubricant and fuel to function and dust deteriorates its functioning, a proper dietary food adds to good health and junk food harms the body, thereby weakening its strength to resist temporary breakdown. Water intake is an essential part of diet. A proper rest is essential for the body. A 6-7 hrs. sleep is required for body and brain in order to regain its valour and freshen up. Exercises are required to maintain a healthy life. A daily exercise helps us remain fit and fine and adds to our life. A good health leaves gives our life a silent kiss of bliss, sheer pleasure of wellbeing and a perfect environment for our brain to function. Ageing as we all know is the phenomenon of changes that occur in an individual over time. In humans, ageing consists of several physical and psychological changes. The most common effect of ageing is when the skin becomes wrinkled. In almost every country, the proportion of people aged over 60 years is growing faster than any other age group, as a result of both longer life expectancy and declining fertility rates. Ageing and health is the theme of this year's World Health Day on 7 April. The Day will focus on how healthy behaviours throughout life can help older men and women lead full and productive lives and be a resource for their families and communities The concept of active ageing has been put forth by W.H.O. this time. Active ageing is the process of optimizing opportunities for health, participation and security in order to enhance quality of life as people age. It applies to both individuals and population groups. Active ageing allows people to realize their potential for physical, social, and mental well-being throughout the life course and to participate in society, while providing them with adequate protection, security and care when they need. The word active refers to continuing participation in social, economic, cultural, spiritual and civic affairs, not just the ability to be physically active or to participate in the labour force. Older people who retire from work, ill or live with disabilities can remain active contributors to their families,

peers, communities and nations. Active ageing aims to extend healthy life expectancy and quality of life for all people as they age. Health refers to physical, mental and social well being as expressed in the WHO definition of health. Maintaining autonomy and independence for the older people is a key goal in the policy framework for active ageing.

As age of human increases, his resistant to fight antigens reduces, But if one has cared for his health since early years of his life, age wont be a problem. Our ancestors were healthier than us. They still are if we compare our present stamina with them. This is because of the difference in diet and exercises they undertook. But the Scenario of todays world is not so pleasant. Aging not only brings decline in body strength but also maltreatment in some form or other from their children as then they have to depend on them. A good health aims to reduce this pain by making them self-sufficient and reliable enough to participate in social life actively and earn their living. This not only makes them self-dependent, but also improves the countrys working capabilities. The good health of employees and the age to which they can serve their nation is the main criterion for development of any nation. A good health adds years to life and life to the years we life. Life should be lived with life, zeal.. Every human yearns for achievement of his aim. His passions may be ignited, his determination strong but lack of good health may make him loose his war. A healthy body is an endowment of the Almighty. Its proper care is the prime thing required for making base to live. Its proper maintenance needs little care, but its effects last long
