SYNOPSIS

INDUSTRIALISED BUILDING SYSTEM (IBS) course provides the students with the basic knowledge and understanding of precast panels used in the construction industries. Students will learn various forms of creativity precast panels, panel production at precast yard and panel erection at site.

LEARNING OUTCOMES Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:1. Discover the development of Industrialised Building System (IBS) and knowledge in Industrialised Building System (IBS).(C3)

INTRODUCTION TO INDUSTRIALISED BUILDING SYSTEM (IBS) This topic covers the basic knowledge of Industrialised Building System (IBS) including the definition, sustainable construction, overview and evolution. Also includes the types of precast panel, advantages, disadvantages, future, forecast the demand for Industrialised Building System (IBS).

CREATIVITY PANELS OF INDUSTRIALISED BUILDING SYSTEM (IBS) This topic exposes the students to various forms of creativity panels and students are also given guidance to describe precast concrete car park beams with facade walls, precast reinforcedearth walls, precast beams for car parks and multi-tier columns.

INTRODUCTION TO MODULAR COORDINATION (04:00) This topic enables the students to learn about the basic and concept of modular coordination and modular design rules. The students also will be exposed to the basic of modular reference system and modular coordination checker software.

BUILDABILITY OF DESIGNS This topic equips the students with guidance to recognize the general design determinants and illustrate buildability as key elements in building production. It also provides students the knowledge of principle design and IBS Score using software

The course assessment is carried out in two sections i. Coursework (CA) Coursework is continuous assessment the measures knowledge, technical skills and soft skills Final Examination (FE) Final examination is carried out at the end of the semester

ii.

The percentage ratio of FE to CA shall follow the guideline stated in the ArahanArahan Peperiksaan dan Kaedah Penilaian which is approved by the Lembaga Peperiksaan dan Penganugerahan Sijil/Diploma Politeknik
