3D Fundamentals
Each eye looks at an image for slightly different angles. Therefore, the brain takes these two different images and translates them into one image giving us depth perception. This is difficult to reproduce on a 2 dimensional screen We have to come up with a scheme that will allow us to screen. see the same image from two different angles giving us 3D effects.
If the two images were added together without g g the brain doing the calculations to combine them, they appear out of focus. Note: The Left and Right eye are actually seeing the same image but from a different angle, but for this explanation one is shown inverted from the other for clarity purposes simply to show there is a difference between the two images seen by each eye.
34
The image is broadcast using two different viewing angles every other frame. <F Frame 2 >
Note: The Left and Right eye are actually seeing the same image but from a different angle, but for this explanation one is shown inverted from the other for clarity purposes simply to show there is a difference between the two images seen by each eye.
The 3D Glasses are then synchronized with the two different images to give the 3D effect effect. They are blanked between scene changes.

TROUBLESHOOTING SECTION
Troubleshooting: g This section of the manual will discuss troubleshooting. Upon completion of this section the Technician will have a better understanding of how to diagnosis and resolve problems.
52
p/n EAY60803402
This switch mode power supply p/n EAY60803402 develops Stand By 3.5V at all times when AC is applied. At power on, it develops 12V and 24V for the Main board and 142V for the Backlights. This power supply draws less than 1 watt during stand by mode. The fuse F102 reads approximately 2.46V and ( g ) g F103 reads 160V (from hot ground) during this time. Note: If the unit was on and then turned off, it takes a long time for the voltage to dissipate (bleed down). When the controller chip receives the PWR-ON command 3.25V 3 25V via P201 Pin 1, the primary section increases its 1 current supplying ability. Both Primary fuses F102 and F103 now read a little more than 388V. P201 Connector: (To Main Board) 12V (12.43V) is routed out P201 pins 17, 19 and 21 and 24V (21.59V) is routed out P201 pins 2, 3 and 4. The On-Board Inverter generates; P204 Connector: (To the Panels Backlights) Pin 1 and 12 read 142V generated by D245. P205 Connector: (To the Panels Backlights) Pin Pi 1 and 12 read 142V generated b D245 d d t d by D245.

Backlights Abnormal: a) Recheck the 142V on the top and bottom pins of P204 and P205. b) Confirm the DRV_On line pulling up to at least 3V and arriving at the Inverter P702 pin 6. c) Check the connections from the Panel to the SMPS. If the 142V is being sent to the Backlights and the DRV_On command is arriving at the Inverter in, then see Inverter Section for further testing. REMOVE AC POWER:

The Inverters must also deliver grounding pulses (Drive Signals) to each of the 12 LED Blocks. This is accomplished by the 12 switching components Q401 through Q412. P204 drives V1a, V1b V1c and V2a, V2b V2c. P205 drives V3a, V3b V3c and V4a, V4b V4c. PWM-DIM1 performs Global dimming, All blocks are controlled equally. Local Dimming (Each block is controlled independently) is accomplished by the SIN (Local Dimming Signal) sent from the Main board to the SMPS and arriving at the inverter on P702 pin 3. The SIN signal is synced by the V-Sync signal input on P702 pin 7.

P-DIM (Global Dimming) Explained: P-DIM (May also be called PWM-DIM, VBR-B, PDS, BCM-VBR-B)
The Video Processor has the output that controls P-DIM. If the Microprocessor is separate from the video processor, then the customers menu Backlights setting is communicated to the video processor via I2C. Maximum P-DIM Voltage 100% 100% Cust Backlight Setting Backlights Bright
3.3V P-DIM Voltage Establishes the maximum threshold or brightness level of the backlights After the max. threshold is established by the Customers Menu, the DC Level of P-DIM is manipulated by:
Brightness of Backlights
Overall Contrast Ratio Monitored by the BCM or Mstar Video Processor. As the overall brightness of the video content decreases, so does P-DIM voltage. If the Intelligent Sensor is utilized, it too manipulates P-DIM. As the overall room light decreases in intensity, P-DIM decreases. This data represents nearly 5000 steps in room light monitoring. It is routed from the Front IR board through I2C data back to the Main boards Microprocessor.
0%
Backlights Dim
0.37V
Brightness and Contrast adjustments do not affect P-DIM Analog Dimming is not used. It is a fixed voltage. Also called BR1, VBR-A, BCM-VBR-A, ADM
