ARTISTS SHORTS: AN UNFINISHED WORLD Modern Art Oxford, Thursday 16 February 2012 CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Modern Art Oxford is staging an evening of short film and video work, to run in parallel with the exhibition Graham Sutherland: An Unfinished World. The exhibition comprises over 80 works on paper that focus on Sutherlands Pembrokeshire landscapes and works created during his time as an official WWII artist. Curator of the exhibition, the artist George Shaw, describes these works as a lament to the passing and changing landscape, a monument to the earth itself. We are inviting submissions of work from undergraduate and postgraduate students, tutors and alumni from the University of Brighton, Central St Martins College of Art and Design, University for the Creative Arts, Maidstone, Oxford Brookes University and the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art responding to the theme An Unfinished World. Work will be selected by Conor Kelly, artist and lecturer at the University for the Creative Arts, Maidstone, Melanie Pocock, Exhibitions Associate and Emily Smith, Curator, Modern Art Oxford. The screening will take place on Thursday 16 February 2012 at 7pm, in the Basement at Modern Art Oxford, and will last approximately 90 minutes. We are looking for submissions of film and video work, of any genre, up to a maximum duration of 10 minutes. Only one work may be submitted per applicant. Please send submissions and a completed registration form to Melanie Pocock, Exhibitions Associate, Modern Art Oxford, 30 Pembroke Street, Oxford, OX1 1BP by Wednesday 1 February 2012.
