) which has 3 components. The components of Method: 1. Approach: collection of beliefs, assumptions, theories on language and language learning. 2. Design: the specifications of the objectives of a method, the syllabus, the types of learning tasks and teaching activities, the roles of 3. Procedures: actual moment-to-moment techniques, practices, and behaviors that operate in teaching a language. 1. Language is a tool for conveying an idea. 2. Language is system because it has many components (grammar, semantics, syntax, sounds, words, etc.) 3. Language is learnt by imitating, processing of formation (habit). 4. Every method except some methods (GTM) there is always a collection of theories, assumptions on language and language learning. 5. Need analysis will determine the material of teaching. 6. A professional teacher knows what to teach and why he teaches it. 7. Why need analysis? Because we want our students learn. Theory on language learning is Students will learn when they learn what they need/ learning will take place when the students learn they need.
