Draw the line

Meaning: Define a threshold that can't be crossed without action or retaliation.

Example: Smoking is okay if you are outside, but I draw the line at smoking in
public places.

Origin: Comes from one of the Psalms which contains a reference about
"drawing a line in the sand" meaning to "proceed no further." It has
been shortened to "draw the line."
