Secret Sisters
Each day we picked a popsicle stick with a friends name on it. During the day, we would watch that individual and take note of the good things they were saying and doing. That night we would gather together and share what we learned about our secret sister. Here are some of the things that others noticed about me.

2011 YW Camp Song

I will Anchor my Soul in Christ
music & lyrics by: Roger & Melanie Hoffman
Winds blow around me. Waves rush to drown me. I will anchor my soul in Christ, Anchor my soul in Christ. Mists rise to blind me. He'll reach to find me. I will anchor my soul in Christ, Anchor my soul in Christ. At times it takes my breath away, The fierceness of the sea. But with joy I take my journey For the Master sails with me. He'll stay beside me. His voice will guide me. I will anchor my soul in Christ forever, Anchor my soul in Christ.

We used our camp theme to design our banner. Each YW designed her own clothespin doll to attach to the banner.

Heres where we stayed!!

Camp Bennion Creek is situated in the beautiful Manti-La Sal forest of the Wasatch Mountain range. The camp encompasses 97 acres at an elevation of approximately 7,000 feet, and is accessable by a five mile dirt road that branches off of Highway 6 in Spanish Fork canyon. Encouraging the growth of established cottonwood trees is the gentle flowing Bennion Creek which winds through the property and has been managed to provide the camp with it''s own pond for swimming, canoeing, and fishing.

Abide with me; Tis Eventide

Abide with me; tis eventide. The day is past and gone; The shadows of the evening fall; The night is coming on. Within my heart a welcome guest, within my home abide. O Savior, stay this night with me; Behold tis eventide. O Savior, stay this night with me; Behold tis eventide. Abide with me; tis eventide. They walk today with me Has made my heart within me burn, As I communed with thee. Thy earnest words have filled my soul And kept me near thy side. O Savior, stay this night with me; Behold, tis eventide. O Savior, stay this night with me; Behold tis eventide. Abide with me; tis eventide, And lone will be the night If I cannot commune with thee Nor find in thee my light. The darkness of the world, I fear, would in my home abide. FRIEND SONG
Make new friends, but keep the old One is silver and the others gold A circle is round, it has no ends Thats how long I want to be your friend Make new friends, but keep the old One is silver and the others gold

GRANDFATHER'S CLOCK
My grandfather's clock was too large for the shelf, So it stood ninety years on the floor. It was taller by half than the old man himself, But it weighed not a penny's weight more, It was bought on the morn of the day that he was born And was always his treasure and pride. But it stopped, short, never to go again When the old man died. Chorus: Ninety years without slumbering, Tick tock, tick tock. His life seconds numbering, Tick tock, tick tock. It stopped, short, never to go again When the old man died. In watching its pendulum swing to and fro, Many hours had he spent when a boy. And in childhood and manhood the clock Seemed to know and to share both his grief and his joy. For it struck twenty four when he entered in the door With a blooming and beautiful bride But it stopped, short, never to go again When the old man died. Chorus My grandfather said that for those he could hire Not a servant so faithful he found. For it wasted no time and had but one desire, At the close of each week to be wound, And it kept in its place, not a frown upon its face. And its hands never hung by its side. But it stopped, short, never to go again When the old man died. Chorus It rang an alarm in the dead of the night, An alarm that for years had been dumb. And we knew that his spirit was pluming for flight, That his hour for departure had come. Still the clock kept the time, with a soft and muffled chime, As we silently stood by his side. But it stopped, short, never to go again When the old man died. Chorus

IRISH SONG
Verse 1 It seems like only yesterday I sailed from out of Cork A wanderer from Erin's Isle I landed in New York. There wasn't a soul to greet me here, a stranger on your shore But Irish luck was with me, and riches came galore. And now I'm goin' back again to dear old Erin's Isle. Me friends will meet me at the shore and greet me with a smile. Their faces sure I've almost forgot I've been so long away But me mother will introduce them all and this to me will say: [CHORUS] Verse 2 They'll have a party when I go home, they'll come from near and far. They'll line the road for miles and miles with Irish jauntin' cars. The spirits will flow and we'll be gay, we'll fill your hearts with joy The piper will play an Irish rill to greet the Yankee boy. They'll dance and sing the whole night long, such fun was never seen. The lads'll be decked in corduroy, the colleens wearing green. There'll be thousands there that I never saw I've been so long away, But me mother will introduce them all, and this to me will say.... [CHORUS]

MORMON SUNDAY SCHOOL SONG

Chorus: Young folks, old folks, everybody come. Join the Mormon Sunday School and have a lot of fun! Kindly leave your chewing gum and candy at the door, And youll hear some Bible stories that youve never heard before. The young prophet, Nephis faith was strong. In the scriptures he did no wrong. According to Friebergs picture of him, He must have gone to a body-building gym! (Chorus) Good King Benjamin built a tower. Spoke to his people for many an hour. Thousands pitched their tents to see, It looked like a Boy Scout Jamboree! (Chorus) They had some trouble with Alma the Younger. For spiritual enlightenment he did hunger. An angel appeared in glorious rays, And he felt mighty dumb for a couple of days. (Chorus) The Jaredites left the Tower of Babel. They had two leaders who were great and able. Mahonri Moriancamer earned great fame, But I cant remember his brothers name! (Chorus) The Gadianton Robbers get the thanks, For robbing all the Nephite banks. They cracked every safe in the whole darn nation, Cause they had the secret combination! (Chorus) Buy a Book of Mormon without delay. Just one buck is all you pay. Ill tell you just what it can do If it reformed Egyptian, it can reform you! (Chorus)

We took all the losers out into the jungle And tied them up there for the snakes. Chorus We crossed over Kenya on into Zimbabwe Determined to beat any team that we met, In spite of their numbers, we took on the pygmies, And taught them a lesson theyll not soon forget. Chorus

I like grape and strawberry But youre raspberry and thats my favorite kind Please forgive me for my stint with honey I looked on the label and not at what was inside Cause youre so sweet and I am chunky Youre low fat, well Im working on that Cause Im peanut butter and you are jelly And were so happy on our little piece of bread Im so glad that I discovered, you in the cupboard I hope youre glad too From now on, well be stuck together But what could be better than being stuck with you Cause youre so sweet and I am chunky Youre low fat, well Im working on that Cause Im peanut butter and you are jelly And were so happy on our little piece of bread

The cutest boy / I ever saw Was sippin ci- / der through a straw. The cutest boy I ever saw was sippin cider through a straw. I asked him if / Hed show me how To sip that ci- / der through a straw. First cheek to cheek / then jaw to jaw, We sipped that ci- / der through a straw. Then all at once / that darn straw slipped And we sipped ci- / der lip to lip.

Thats how I got / my mother-in-law And forty-nine kids / who call me Ma. The moral of / this story is Dont drink your ci- / der lip to lip Drink Rootbeer!!! : ) The group repeats after every slash and every line and then sings the entire verse together, as shown in verse one.

White Coral Bells

White coral bells upon a slender stalk. Lillies of the valley deck my garden walk. Oh dont you wish that you could hear them sing? That will happen only when the fairies sing. (This is a two part round. Sing it through 3 times each. The second part comes in after the first two lines.)

Tong, Tong, Tong, Tong

Tong, Tong, Tong, Tong Pakitong, Kitong Alimanggo sa dagat Masarap at mataba Mahirap Mahuli Pagkat Itoy nangangagat **This is a Philippino song that Sis. Waite learned on her mission. The language is Tagalog. The first two lines have no meaning. Alimango = crab. Sa dagat= in the sea. Masarap= delicious. At mataba= and fat. Mahirap= hard/difficult. Mahuli= to catch. Pagkat= because. Itoy nangangagat= it bites. (The as are pronounced like the o sound in the word hot, so like ahh).
