Essential Truth
The Circle of the Human Compass

To all material truth there is an Essential Truth, which corresponds with.

A human Circle drawing might be not perfect but it is still round. We are not mechanical
instruments and even so, our imperfections show the human greatness.
Compared to the classical way of painting, the method of Zen Painting is totally obverse: we
have to paint the brush instead of the paper or canvas . . .
After adding and applying some quantity of color on the brush, the painter does a single
stroke: in that one, like a genesis, he has to contemplate and discover the creation: It is an
animal? There is a face?

The process is quite different of classical painting where the painter has clearly in his
thought what he has to paint. Here, in Zen, we have to contemplate and finish what it is
manifested already by a spontaneous stroke. This allows the Imagination Gate to be wide
opened. You just expect the presence of a visitor from the world of all known shapes and
you need to figure out what is the best way to make it visible in such a fashion that
everybody might be able to plainly perceive it.
It is sedimentation of forces manifested from the intangible world of archetypes.
The Seminar is thought to show the way of recognition of symbolic features and entities of
many different worlds animal, oneiric, human or even angelic. Adornment is not a
necessity . . .
The meaning of shade, in balance with light is not easily seen, but contemplation (Zen) is a
medium to reveal all things through the artist work, as salt dissolved in water is known by
testing . . .
