In September 1948,
Nash entered a
university in
Princeton. He showed
interest in
mathematics;
topology, geometry,
game theory
and logic. All of these
were among his
interests but he
escaped to talk about
these subjects.
Years later,
he starts to teach lessons in
Princeton University. He
also works in MIT ’s Wheller
Laboratory
to work out Russian’s
potential energy.
In February of 1957 Nash married Alicia (his department’s student).
In1958, his wife was pregnant. A few months later Nash’s mental state
became very worried.
He started to think that he was a
great man because of his ideas.
He began to hear voices all the
time. He hears telephone calls in
his head. He also sees some
men.
John doesn’t accept
medication. He only
wants to live in a world
of dreams forever...
His wife takes
him to a
neuropathy
hospital
because his
hallucinations
mix up his
mind.
He stays in neuropathy hospital ten
weeks, he has undergone lots of crisis in
there and the doctors gave insulin
shocks him five times a day.
Although spending periods
in hospital, his mathematical
work continued
successfully. He said; “ I
would not say that there is a
direct relation between
mathematics and madness,
but there is no doubt that
great mathematicians suffer
from maniacal
characteristics.”
After many years
of great effort, he
finally succeeded
over this tragedy
and received
“THE NOBEL
PRIZE”
