In October 2003, Thiess Indonesia secured a life of mine contract with

The ongoing contract involves managing four of KPCs pits and services
cover from mine planning, stripping, coal mining, blasting, over burden
removal to stock piling. Additional works undertaken include coal haulage
from the pits up to 15km to processing facilities. The contract includes
revegetation of mined areas.

Project Delivery

Thiess Indonesia’s average annual coal production on site is 15MT per


annum from 105 bank cubic metres (BCM) of overburden. Mining across
the pits is predominately open cut.

The total workforce, including administration, mining operations and


maintenance personnel is more than 2000.
