win a fantastic prize!
Saint Patrick’s is going to have a uniform.
Yes, that’s right! A uniform!
Director Miriam Casey has decided to
implement a new scheme where each
student will wear a t-shirt with the
academy’s logo when they come to class.
“I think it will be nice for the students to
have some kind of uniform, just like they
do at school” said Miriam.
“This way they will belong to Saint Patricks.
It will be like a club – an English club” she
explained.
Miriam’s idea is not the first – in summer
camps all over the world students wear
t-shirts with the school’s name. However,
Saint Patrick’s will be the first term-time
academy in Andalucia to start such a
project.
What about students who come to the
academy after school?
“These students will be able to wear the t-
shirt over their normal clothes, if they
wish” Miriam explained. “The uniform will
be optional at first – if they want a Saint
Patrick’s t-shirt for free, they will have to
wear it when they come to class. But they
can also pay for the t-shirt and wear it
when they want to.”
What will the uniform look like?
The uniform will not be a complete outfit,
but just a t-shirt to start with. If the t-shirts
become popular, Miriam will think about
bringing in other items of merchandise
such as caps, bags and badges.
Miriam has not yet thought of a design for
the t-shirts. This is where the students
come in:
Saint Patrick’s is running a competition.
All students can participate in the design
process of the Saint Patrick’s t-shirt.
Teachers will dedicate a lesson to this
activity. Students can work in pairs or
groups to design a t-shirt. They can design
more than one if they want to.
Miriam will then look at all the entries and
choose the winner.
Important Information:
 T-shirts must have the colour
green, either as the t-shirt colour
or the lettering.
 T-shirts must include the words
“Saint Patrick’s” and “English”.
 T-shirts can have different styles
for boys/girls, young children,
adults.
The winner(s) of the competition will win a
fantastic prize.
