CODE OF CONDUCT

PURPOSE

To create a respectful work environment, which promotes the delivery of the highest
level of care through teamwork, quality and service. Civility in the workplace is based on
courtesy, politeness and manners.

RESPONSIBLE PERSONS

All employees in the Division of Nursing will demonstrate the following key values and
standards of behavior at all times.

CONTENT Integrity Be honest with everyone encountered.


Be a positive role model.
Be sensitive to cultural differences.
Speak positively about *** Hospital and my coworkers.
Be assertive, not aggressive.

Accountability Be responsible for actions.


Apologize thoughtfully and sincerely.
Avoid excuses.
Deliver what is promised.

Open Communication Listen attentively to coworkers.


Introduce self to others.
Give and ask for help.
Ask for my opinion.
Accept and give praise along with constructive feedback.
Pay attention to body language.

Mutual Respect Smile and greet coworkers.


Say please and thank you.
Speak kindly.
Be inclusive and engaging.
Respect other's opinions.
Respect other people's time, space, and silence.
Speak positively about other employees and departments.
Value me as part of the team.
Acknowledge me for what I can do.

Implementation It is the expectation of all members of the Division of Nursing to


abide by this policy.
The leadership/management within the Division of Nursing will
communicate and enforce compliance with this code of conduct.
Consequences Failure to comply will ultimately result in a corrective action.
