It is my pleasure to inform you that on 21 June 2008, the IEEE Educational Activities Board (EAB) voted to
recognize the exceptional achievements of the IEEE Peru Section by awarding it the 2008 IEEE Educational
Activities Board Section Professional Development Award with the following citation:

“for actively developing and supporting student-professor workshops and technical meetings
and encouraging students to pursue engineering as a career”

This award was established by the EAB to recognize IEEE Sections for major contributions to IEEE members in the
areas of life-long learning, continuing education and professional development.

The 2008 IEEE EAB Awards will be presented during the IEEE Board of Directors Meeting Series in New
Brunswick NJ, USA on 14 November. Attendees will include the IEEE President, members of the IEEE Board of
Directors, and other IEEE Officers and their companions. Additional information about the presentation will be
provided separately by Rae Toscano, Manager, EAB Administration.
