Introduction
Hazrat syed Kastir Gul alias Hazrat Kakasahib (r.a) was a Hussaini syed belongs to the descendents
of Ali bin ismail bin Imam Jafer Sadiq (a.s) . He belongs to notable well known bani hashim of arabs .
He was an islamic Sufi (wali) named "Syed Kastir Gul " also known as Kaka Sahib and Sheikh
Rehamkar (983-1063 hijri) .
Hazrat kakasahib was born on 1st Ramadan 983 Hijri and brought up in the era of Mughal emperors
Jalal-ud-din Akbar and his son Jehangir .
The Names
Hazrat kakasahib got a name "Kastir Gul" (a flower of great fragrance) from his parents , whereas he
is known by different names among the people . The pathans gave him a name "Kakasahib" . The
Mughals used to call him "Sheikh Rahamkar"(because of his mercy and kindness to the people) . He is
known as "Sheikh Jee" among the people of punjab and India . Some people also call him "Zayray
kaka"(the pale- because of his extensive worship and prayers , his face turned pale) ."Akhun Panjoo
Sahib" of "Akbar pura" gave him the title "Rahamkar".

The Characteristics
Hazrat kakasahib was physically thin and slim.He had wheatish complexion.He was inclined towards
worship of Allah Almighty right from his childhood.He used to be busy in meditation and prayers
most of the time.He always observed good moral character.He never humiliated anybody rather he
used to show mercy and kindness to everyone.He was so humane,humble,kindhearted and soft spoken
that whosoever met him once or heard him,became his admirer and follower.He used to eat less and
sleep less which ultimately caused him weak and undernourished.
The Tribe/Nationality
There are different denotations among the people about the tribe/nationality of kakasahib . Some say
that he was a "syed" . Some say he was a "khattak" , whereas some other say that he was "Seenay" but
most of the people agreed upon that he was a "syed" by caste . Refrences of some authentic books are
given below for the attestation:-
• When the British came to NWFP in 1848 , they compiled the history
and nationality of the people of this area . They titled the descendents
of Kakasahib as "Syed" . (Shajara-e-Nasab , Ziarat Kakasahib ,
Official Gazette of Tehsil/district Nowshera-1870 , page 1-44)
• Shamsul Ulema Maulana Syed Mir Ahmed Shah Rizwani in his book
"Tuhfat-ul-Awlia" , 1321 , at page 30 mentioned that Kakkasahib was a
"Syed".
• Abak Sahib:- He was the father of kakasahib . His real name was
Bahadur Khan Sahib . He was a saint of his time and had many
followers . His beautiful shrine is located at a adistance of about six
miles towards the west of village of Ziarat kakasahib.The visitors of
the shrine are served with free food and offered boarding and lodging
facilities.
• Must Baba:- He was the grand father of Kakasahib.He was also the
saint of his time . His shrine is located at a distance of about five miles
towards the west of the shrine of Abak Sahib .The devotees frequently
come to visit his shrine and are served with free food.

• Ali Gul and Mali Gul:- They were two brothers and obedient servants
of Hazrat Kakasahib . They sacrificed their lives to serve the visitors
and used to supervise the management of boarding and lodging of the
guests . Their graves are inside the parameter walls of the tomb of
Hazrat Kakasahib .
• Ghazi Khan:- He was also one of the devotees who acquired his due
spiritual share from Hazrat kakashaib . His grave is located near by
the shrine of Kakasahib .
• There are many others , who could not be mentioned due to paucity of
time and space , especially those who have been inspired from Hazrat
Kakasahib and followed the straight path of truth and salvation .
The Demise
The sad demise of Hazrat Kakasahib was occured on friday,24th of Rajab 1063 Hijri . He was
buried in a place he mentioned in his will , i-e a hill top of the present village Ziarat
Kakasahib .
