Rehamkar (983-1063 hijri) .

Jalal-ud-din Akbar and his son Jehangir .

Hazrat kakasahib got a name "Kastir Gul" (a flower of great fragrance) from his parents , whereas he
is known by different names among the people . The pathans gave him a name "Kakasahib" . The
Mughals used to call him "Sheikh Rahamkar"(because of his mercy and kindness to the people) . He is
known as "Sheikh Jee" among the people of punjab and India . Some people also call him "Zayray

The Characteristics
Hazrat kakasahib was physically thin and slim.He had wheatish complexion. He was inclined towards
worship of Allah Almighty right from his childhood. He used to be busy in meditation and prayers
most of the time.He always observed good moral character. He never humiliated anybody rather he
used to show mercy and kindness to everyone. He was so humane, humble, kindhearted and soft spoken

The Tribe/Nationality

There are different denotations among the people about the tribe/nationality of kakasahib . Some say
that he was a "syed" . Some say he was a "khattak" , whereas some other say that he was "Seenay" but
most of the people agreed upon that he was a "syed" by caste . Refrences of some authentic books are
given below for the attestation:-

• When the British came to NWFP in 1848 , they compiled the history
and nationality of the people of this area . They titled the descendents
of Kakasahib as "Syed" . (Shajara-e-Nasab , Ziarat Kakasahib ,
Official Gazette of Tehsil/district Nowshera-1870 , page 1-44)

• In a book "Tareekh-e-Peshawer" by A.G Heisting, 1880 , at page 323

, it is mentioned that the descendents of Hazrat Kakasahib are "Syeds"
and their forefathers hailed from Kabul.

• Syed Abdullah Shah Bukhari of Charsadda , in his book "Mujma-ul-

Barakat" , 1285 , at page 4 , mentioned the Shajara-e-Nasab of Hazrat
Kakasahib and proved him as "Syed".
3

• Maulana Ghulam Ahmad in his book "Manaqib-e-Kakasahib" 1908 , at page

14 mentioned the Shajara-e-Nasab of Hazrat Kakasahib.

• Shamsul Ulema Maulana Syed Mir Ahmed Shah Rizwani in his book
"Tuhfat-ul-Awlia" , 1321 , at page 30 mentioned that Kakkasahib was a
"Syed".

• Misconceptions About Nationality:- The misconception about the nationality

of Kakasahib is because of his hailing from the land of Khattaks but the fact
is that the forefathers of Kakasahib were belonging to Arab . They left their
homeland and traveled across Iraq , Iran , Turkistan (Bukhara) , and
Afghanistan until they reached the province of Balochistan and NWFP of
Pakistan . Ghalib Gul Baba , the grand father of Kakasahib got settled in the
area of khattaks , therfore , his offspring inhabited the same area but this
does not mean that he belongs to a khattak tribe . For example Syed Jamal-
ud-din Afghani , was a "Syed" by caste but inhabited Afghanistan for which
he was called "Afghani".
