Corresponding Angles Postulate: If 2 ll lines are cut by a transversal then the pairs of

corresponding angles congruent.

Alternate Interior Angles Theorem: Of 2 ll are cut by a transversal then the pairs of alternate
interior angles are congruent.

Consecutive Interior Angles Theorem: If 2 ll lines are cut by a transversal then the pairs of
consecutive interior angles are supplementary.

Alternate Exterior Angles Theorem: If 2 ll lines are cut by a transversal then the pairs of
alternate exterior angles are congruent.

Perpendicular Transversal Theorem: if a transversal is in perpendicular to one of 2ll lines then

it the transversal is Perpendicular to the other ll lines.

Perpendicular lines: Two lines are perpendicular IFF the lines intersect to form a right angle.

Theorem 3.1: If to lines intersect to form a linear pair of congruent angles then the lines are
perpendicular.

Theorem 3.2: If two sides of adjacent angles are perpendicular then the angles are
complementary.

Theorem 3.3: if two lines are perpendicular then the lines intersect to form four right angles.

Corresponding Angle Postulate: If 2 ll lines are cut by a transversal then the pairs of
corresponding angles are congruent.

Alternate Interior Angle theorem (3.4): Of 2 ll lines are cut by a transversal then the pairs of
alternate interior angles are congruent.

Consecutive Anterior Angle Theorem (3.5): If 2ll lines are cut by a transversal then the pairs of
consecutive interior angles are supplementary.

Alternate Exterior Angles Theorem (3.6): If 2 ll lines are cut by a transversal then the pairs of
alternate exterior angles are congruent.

Perpendicular Transversal Theorem (3.7): if a transversal is perpendicular to one of two ll lines

then the transversal is perpendicular to the other ll.

Corresponding Angles Converse Postulate: If 2 lines cut by a transversal so that corresponding

angels are congruent then the lines are ll.
Alternate Interior Angles Converse (3.8): If 2 lines cut by a transversal so that alternate interior
angles are congruent then the lines are ll.

Consecutive Interior Angles Converse (3.9): If two lines are cut by a transversal so that
consecutive interior angles are supplementary then the lines are ll.

Alternate Exterior Angles Converse (3.10): If 2 lines are cut by a transversal so that alternate
exterior angles are congruent then the lines are ll.

Note: If a line is perpendicular to one of the ll then it is perpendicular to the other.
