but if the pets are not licensed, we
have no means of identifying the
owners. If unclaimed after 72 hours, and no adoption has taken place, the
animals may be transferred to SPCA in Peace River or may be euthanized. This is
a sad but necessary task, paid for by the taxpayers. The problem is easily rectified
by purchasing an inexpensive pet license at the Town Office. It is critical that
your pets wear identification. "OX(INES#REEK !"4(!s

Animal cruelty has no place in Fairview!

SNOW
Communities in the Peace Region receive an average snowfall of 63
inches! With all that snow, everyone must pitch in to keep our community
moving.

For our part - the Town of Fairview Public Works department works hard
to keep our streets clean and clear.

It’s your turn - pursuant to Section 3 of Bylaw No. 937/TR/2009, commercial

properties are responsible for clearing snow and ice off walkways within
24 hours of snowfall’s end; for residential properties, 48 hours.

Unfortunately, for some residents of our community, removing snow

can be difficult or dangerous! Help a neighbour by clearing walkways
for seniors, those physically unable, or friends who are away.

If you know a good neighbour, nominate him/her to receive the

Mayor’s Good Neighbour Award.

MUNICIPAL DISTRICT OF FAIRVIEW NO. 136
10957 - 91st Avenue
Fairview, AB T0H 1L0
Ph. 780-835-4903
Website: mdfairview.com

The Municipal District of Fairview No. 136 is located approximately

558 km north of Edmonton on Highway 43 and 90 km north of
Grande Prairie on Highway 2. To enter the municipality from the
south, you will cross the mighty Peace River on the Dunvegan
Bridge, the longest gravity-anchored suspension bridge in
Alberta. Crossing the “Gateway to the North” will bring you to the
Historic Dunvegan Park and Interpretive Centre.

THE MAPLES
The Maples is a beautiful day use picnic area located on the west side of Dunvegan Bridge. It is located
approximately 26 km south of the Town of Fairview on Highway 2. Visitors may investigate numerous
stories about the fascinating history of this area by touring both parks. Historic Dunvegan was one of the
first areas to be settled in the region. Along with great camping and picnic facilites, there are adjacent
commercial gardens and gift shops to explore. The HIstoric Dunvegan Park has a wonderful campground
with hook-ups for RV’s and Campers.

PRATTS LANDING
Pratts Landing is located on the shores
of the Peace River, 26 river kilometers,
4 hours of paddling upstream from
Dunvegan - if driving you can access
this wilderness park from secondary
highway 682, 32 km west of the Town
of Fairview. There are 15 stalls with Fire
pits, free firewood, and there is also a
playground for the kids.

This region is the Music Frestival

Capital of Northern Alberta, with many festivals that take place
from June to August. The Annual Bluefest is the 3rd Sunday in
August in the hamlet of Bluesky located within the M.D. of Fairview
No. 136, 9 km east of the Town of Fairview. There are many local
musicians taking the stage, with lots of food and activities for the kids. The Fairview Amateur Rodeo
happens the 3rd weekend in June, and the North Peace Bracket Racing Association holds drag
races throughout the summer months at the Fairview Airpot located just 5 km west of Fairview, on
Highway 34.
