FINANCIAL APPEAL FOR DISMISSED CONVENOR-

LONDON SOVEREIGN
The May Finance and General Purposes Committee (F&GP) discussed the case of Brother Abdul
Omer Mohsin, who was recently dismissed by his employer, London Sovereign.

Brother Omer was Unite Convenor at the company, with a strong track record of standing up for our
members. Our Regional Office who represented him at the Disciplinary Hearing and at Appeal has
provided me with a full report on the case, and is quite clear that the decision to dismiss is not only
unfair, but is also tantamount to an attack on our Union organisation within the Company.

The Union has sought leave to conduct a Special Review of this decision, and will be conducting a
ballot of members in London Sovereign.

The F&GP has accordingly authorised an appeal to all London Bus Branches for financial donations
to assist with alleviating the hardship that Brother Omer is currently experiencing.

Please made cheques payable to “Unite the Union” and write “Abdul
Omer Appeal” on the reverse. Messages of support from Branches will be passed onto Brother
Omer.
