A bit of empathy
Of course, the other side to all this is TOLERANCE. The next time
you start to think xenophobic thoughts when you see somebody
who is ethnically different from you spitting in the street, picking
his nose or whatever it is that drives you up the wall, pause for a
moment and decide if he is trying to be offensive or is he just
culturally different. At this very moment you are probably doing
something that would offend someone somewhere in the world!
spitting = to spit (spat - spat) eject saliva from one's mouth.

To pick your nose = take dry mucus out of your nose with your
finger.
To drive someone up the wall = infuriate someone.
