4.27

SUPPORT SERVICES

The Board delegates to the Superintendent the responsibility for


maintaining the physical plant of the school system.

The Board expects the administration to operate and maintain the


school plant and equipment in such a way as to achieve the following
objectives:

1. Maintain a physical plant that is accessible, barrier-free, safe and


clean;

2. Provide healthful conditions for students and staff;

3. Ensure surroundings requisite to a sound educational climate;

4. Establish procedures for the efficient and proper operation and


management of buildings and grounds, offices, vehicles,
equipment, and supplies;

5. Establish an effective and economical maintenance program,


including preventive maintenance of school property, vehicles,
buildings and equipment; and

6. Establish efficient procedures for the management of the food


service program.
