    materialism.Peoplehadtheirownstyleandmostpeopleexperimenteddrugs.Atimewhich
    madepeoplebecomeinterestedintheEasternregion,andtobeginportrayingthehuman
    condition.SomeofthemostknownwritersfromtheBeatGenerationincludeAllenGinsberg,
    WilliamS.Burroughs,andJackKerouac.TheBeatGenerationvaluedcivilrights,communism,
    anddiscrimination.
    Civilrightswasimportanttoeverycitizenduringthe1950showevernoonewould
    actuallyspeakupagainstthegovernment.Theonlypeoplethatwouldspeakagainstthe
    governmentanditsruleswerethebeatgenerationwriters.Inline14ofGinsbergAmerica
    poem,hestates,Imsickofyou'reinsanedemand.ThisquotegivesanideaofhowAmerica
    wasverycontrolling,andthatmostofthecivilrightsactwerebeingviolated.Ginsbergwas
    tryingtoshowsushowAmericamakesitselfseemlikeafreecountrybutreallyisnt.
    Communismwasanissuealsoduringthe1950sbecauseAmericaclaimsitsnota
    communistcountry,butitsactinglikeone.AmericawasbeingcomparedtoaMoloch.Amoloch
    isamythicalmonsterfromthemideastthateatschildren.AmericawasconsideredaMoloch
    becauseitwasbrainwashingchildrenandparentsintojoiningthearmy.AlsoinBurroughs

    NakedLunchnovel,hesaid,Americaisnotayoungland:itisaoldanddirtyandevilbefore
    thesettlers,beforetheIndians.Theevilistherewaiting.ThisquotefromBurroughstellsusthat
    Americahasalwaysbeenevilandmostpeoplewontnoticeitbecausetheyrebeing
    brainwashed.TheymakethemthinkthateverythingevilthatAmericaisdoing,isconsidereda
    goodthingtotheircitizens.
    Discriminationhasaroundforareallylongtime.DuringtheBeatGenerationtherewasa
    lotofdiscriminationstowardseverykindofpersonotherthanwhite.WriterssuchasKerouac
    talkedalotaboutdiscriminationinAmerica.InhislettersthathesenttoGinsberghesaid,
    ...andImsotiredofallsuchdiscriminationswhichcomeandgowithlittleradiantlifetimesone
    afteranother..KerouacdislikedthediscriminationinAmerica,andhetalkedalotaboutitinhis
    writing.Hetriedtofindsolutionstoeliminatediscriminationhoweverlikehesaiddiscrimination
    willbearoundforever,fromgenerationtogeneration.
    Inconclusion,theBeatGenerationvaluedcivilrights,communism,anddiscrimination.
    Allthreeofthesequalitiesshowthepurposeofthebeatgeneration,eventhoughtheywere
    issuesduringthosetime.PeoplereallycaredaboutthembecausetheyimpactAmerica.Civil
    rightsbeingviolatedbythesamepeoplewhogavethoserights.Communismoverrulingthe
    world,withdictatorship.Last,discriminationanissuethatwillbearoundfromgenerationto
    generation.Hever,theBeatGenerationwriterswerethepeoplewhospokeup,andtolduswhat
    manymedidnt.
