B.
Adjectives. Words that describe, modify and give nouns and pronouns
personality. These words tell the size, shape, age, state, etc.
Kinds:
a) Descriptive adjective or adjective of quality
Descriptive adjectives are the most numerous of the different
types of adjectives. These adjectives describe nouns that refer
to action, state, or quality (careless, dangerous, excited, sad,
black, white, big, small, long, fat, English, Mediterranean,
three-cornered).
b.) Adjective of quantity
An adjective of quantity tells us the number (how many)
or amount (how much) of a noun.
c.)

Demonstrative adjective

A demonstrative adjective (this, that, these, those) shows the

noun it modifies is singular or plural and whether the position of
the noun is near or far from the person who is speaking or writing.
A demonstrative adjective also points out a fact about the noun.
d.) Possessive adjective
A possessive adjective expresses possession of a noun by
someone or something. Possessive adjectives are the same as
possessive pronouns.

C.
It is important to know and determine your reading purpose so that you
could sort information properly; especially if you are reading to get
information. Also, knowing your purpose will give you a better and effective
understanding of the prose or literary piece you are reading. It also gives
you an edge since you understood what youre reading properly.
Knowing your reading purpose also helps you in familiarizing facts,
knowledge and information that could be useful not only during when it is
needed, like in tests, but also in the long run. And when youre used to
knowing your reading purpose, you will not have any problem with
comprehension and conception of everything that you will read.
Scanning and skimming are two speed-reading techniques which
enable you to cover a vast amount of reading material to be read very
rapidly. Theyre both similar in process but have different purposes.
Skimming is rapidly moving the eyes over the reading material and
getting only the main ideas and general overview of it. It is quite useful in
pre-reading and reviewing.
Scanning, on the other hand, is rapidly covering a vast amount of
reading material in order to locate a certain information or a piece of fact. It
is used for finding a specific name, date, statistic or fact without reading the
entire article.

D.
Note-taking Techniques.
a.) Annotations
Involves adding comments to a text that explain or critique what
you have read. It can be written in the margins and may accompany
words you have highlighted to identify key information.
b.) Diagrams
It is more visual form of taking notes. They could be mind-maps,
charts, tables, graphs or perhaps a drawing to capture a process or
a cycle.
c.) Paraphrasing
It is expressing the information gathered in your own words.
Transforming the original source material helps you to understand it.
d.) Summaries
It is focused on the main points of the source material so they
are shorter overview.
e.) Linear notes
Linear notes are what most people are used to doing. They are
written down a page with headings and subheadings. They should
have plenty of room for detail.
f.) Spidergrams
Spider diagrams are on one page and are good for showing
structure and organizing your ideas. They are sometimes called
mindmaps, which indicates how they are good for making
connections clear and visual.

E.
The Truth About Forever. It is a novel by Sarah Dessen; the first book
Ive read from her. It is a book about a girl, Macy, who has her summer
planned ahead of her. But things, often times, don't go as we want it; she
get to meet new people that she didn't know would be important and would
change
her
life
forever.
That summer, Macy's boyfriend, a genius, went to attend an annual
brain camp. Their arrangement is she would take his place in the library as
he summer job. But she felt so out of the water being their; her co-workers
are so indifferent to her and eventually did not respect her. After about two
weeks she didn't expect that he would break up with her through an email
just because she opened up what was really happening and said how much
she loved him. He said that she's being immature. And that, in the long run,
infuriated her, realizing she doesn't want to be treated anything less.
She met Wes and the rest of people in Wish's catering services her
mom hired during her an event launching the new houses their family
company is building. When she checked it in the kitchen, since she was
assigned by her mom as in charge of those matter, the catering staffs were
having problem in the kitchen because they forgot something, as they say
were usual, and were running low of working hands since a staff can't come.
So she helped; not realizing how chaotic it could be but at the same time
fun. She liked how systematic it could get when you managed to get in the
flow
of
doing
the
duties.
After the catering staffs have packed up and about to leave, Macy didn't
expect that she would be offered a job in the catering services. She didn't
said no nor said yes, but there are certain things you don't just expect to
happen.
That's when she would meet those people that would let her see the
importance of change in human's life; how sometimes we really need it and
how
sometimes
we
just
need
to
deal
and
accept
it.
It was almost past 5, after her work in the library that she got a call from
Delia, the owner and manager of the catering services. She's asking her if
she could come and help them since they didn't expect that they're going to
run low again of working hands. Since she was not doing anything, she
went
to
the
directions
Delia
gave
her.
To cut the story short, that's how she met those people that would
change her life forever. She became so close to Kristy, a girl who's not
afraid to be different, bold and enthusiastic. That's how Macy learned to
enjoy life but still being cautious enough. She learned from her how it is to
be
tough and brave after being judged and bashed.

And she met Wes. She learned through him that it is not always what
the eyes could see that you should always believe. He gave her importance
that she realized what she lacks and wants. Wes is very attractive and
handsome and responsible yet he wasn't so interested in the 'perfect girl'
idea. Because he is a boy who accepts flaws, and see potentials in every
aspects of life. To him, nothing is ever finished, or broken. Its just waiting to
be incarnated, to begin as something new, again. And that is what Macys
story is all about for me. How life is a continuing series of beginnings and
endings, losses and gains, all folding into one long stretch, one lifetime, and
one forever.
