each goal. At the end of this document are some examples. Submit an electronic copy to

END OF YEAR REFLECTION MAY

For the end of the year, teachers are asked to reflect on PGP accomplishments, learning, and
next steps. It is important for the principal/evaluator to have a clear understanding of what you
were unable to complete and why as well as whether you should continue with one or more goals
for the coming year. You may write your paragraph here.

PGP Accomplishments, Learning, and Next Steps

Goal 1: The implementation of the Making Meaning program and Daily 5
activities had a huge impact on the students attitudes towards being a
productive member of a reading community and helped spark the love of
reading and writing that they need. Even though I would like to have seen
even stronger growth in individual reading levels, especially concerning the
MAP scores, there were success stories. I was able to see how to fully utilize
the small group time as I continue to improve with using the program.
Goal 2: Although as a grade level we did not implement the unit on sound this
year, we mapped out our ideas to work on next year. As part of the PBL PLC, I
helped research, discuss, and set frameworks that I will use to implement
more project based learning in my classroom in the future.
Goal 3: Working with our 4th grade reading/garden buddies was a great way to
study the IB traits. Using related literature as our guide, the 1st graders were
able to share their ideas with the older students who added some experiences
to broaden the younger ones views. We will continue to work together next
year in this capacity.
Goal 4: I know that I was better this year with paperwork and due dates, but
can always continue to improve, especially when it comes to responding to
emails in a manner more of the parents are used to. My colleagues, especially
my first grade team, also helped me to stay on top of my duties. I look forward
to setting, planning, and working on my professional goals for the upcoming
school year.
