reasonableprotectionagainstharmfulinterferenceinacommercialenvironment.This

attentionhasbeenpaidtoFlexiMultiradio10BaseStationsoftwarestarttime,reducing,
forinstance,downtimewhenanewsoftwarepackageisputintouse.

Intelligent shut-down
Intelligentshut-downfeatureoptimizestheinvestmenttoonebatterybackupsystemon
ahigh-capacityBTS,especiallyonsitesthatoperateasimportanttransmissionhub
nodes.Withintelligentshut-down,separatebackupsystemsforBTSandtransmission
areunnecessary.
FlexiMultiradio10BTSwithbatterybackupsystemsupportsanintelligentBTSsite
powershutdownprocedureintheeventofanACpowerfailure.Duringthe
commissioningofeachsite,theoperatorcandefinedifferentshutdowntimersand
prioritiesfortheBTSsectorsandcarriers.
IntelligentshutdownisactivatedfromPowersystemsbyactivatingoneexternalalarm
(EAC)linestoFlexiBTS.
WhenFlexiBTSdetectsaproblemwiththepowerprovisioning-soswitchingtobattery
powersupply-analarmisraised,andtheBTSautomaticallyreducestherequiredpower
consumption.Asaresult,FlexiBTSisoperatingwithreducedornoserviceofferedas
longasthereisenoughpower.OncetheACpowerisrestored,FlexiBTSagainoffers
fullservice.
Thereductionofpowerisdoneviathestepwiseshutdownofserviceswhichare
triggeredbyoperatorconfigurabletimersperBTS.Differentshutdownscenarioscanbe
