Course Objectives:

To develop a model for certain type of decision problems with uncertainty and find an
acceptable solution.

To deal with abstraction and to develop construction and verification of formal fuzzy
logical manipulation.

To develop mathematical maturity about the fundamental of fuzzy mathematics

Fuzzy sets & fuzzy logic- Basic Definitions : Definition of a fuzzy set, Elements of
fuzzy logic
Operation on Fuzzy sets : Unions, Intersections, Complements, sums,Products
differences
Unit II
Fuzzy Relations : Join and composition, Relations including, Operations, Reflexivity,
Symmetry and Transitivity, Pattern Classification based on fuzzy relations
Unit III
Fuzzy Analysis : Distances between Fuzzy Sets, Height, Width of Fuzzy Subsets,
Continuity and Integrals., Applications of Fuzzy sets
extensions, Projections : Cylindrical extensions and closure , types of projections
Unit IV
Cluster Analysis and its application in modelling information system :
Clustering method, Fuzzy C-mean clustering method,Fuzzy C-means
algorithm,Clustering method based upon Fuzzy equivalence relations
Unit V
Applications of fuzzy sets. : Fuzzy graphs and connectivity,Fuzzy application in
Database Theory, Applications to Neural Networks
Unit VI
Fuzzy Regression : Linear regression basic idea with crisp data, Fuzzy regression,
Linear Regression with Fuzzy parameters, Linear Regression with Fuzzy Data
