Introduction
Thedefinitionofclimateistheaverageorquintessentialconditionsoftemperaturethat
areexpectedtoexistgloballyorregionallyforaspecificamountoftime.Ifclimatechangeis
reallytruetheareasthatwillbeaffectedthemostistheNorthPole,withalessofanimpacton
theSouthPoleandthetropics(EndangeredSpeciesandHabitats,n.d.).Duetotheenhancement
ofgreenhousegasesintheatmospheretheclimateoftheearthhasbeenaltered.Accordingtothe
NewEnglandAquarium(n.d.),theIPCCconfirmedthathumanactivityisakeyfactorinthe
recentchangesinclimate.Theexistenceofclimatechangehasbeenarguedindefinitelyinthe
recentyearsofthe21stcentury.Manydenytherealityofclimatechangealltogether,while
somedenythathumanactivitynegativelyaffectstheearth'sbeing.

SupportersandDeniers
Currentsupportersarerallyingandadvocatingfortheexistenceofclimatechange,often
holdingpublicdebatesinordertodiscusstheissue.Themarchwaspartofaglobalseriesof
climateprotestsincitiesaroundtheworld.BillNyehasrecentlybeeninNYCtomarchalong
withothersintheclimatechangemarch.InhisspeechatthemarchheproclaimedItsour
fault[climatechange],andwehavetogettoworkonthisnow(Durkin,2015).The
presidentoftheU.S.recentlymetleadersfrom150nationsinordertopushforactionagainstthe
threatsofclimatechange.Heclaimsnocountryisimmunefromthedangersofitandurges

leaderstotakeactionevenifthebenefitswerenotevidentforgenerations(Mufson&Warrick,
2015).BillGatesandotherwealthyprivateinvestorshavegivenfundstoprovideforenergy
research.Asmanyworldleadersareconcernedaboutthestateoftheearth,manypoliticians
denytheexistenceofclimatechangeandclaimargumentssupportingitareallfalse.Inaforum
providedbyFreedomPartners,TedCruzstatedthathedoesn'tbelieveinthesciencebehind
globalwarming.Hehaspreviouslycomparedthosewhobelieveinclimatechangeas
flatearthers(Jacobs,2015).CruzhasoftencriticizedtheObamaadministrationforwasting
timeandmoney,overusinghispoweranddoingthingsheshouldnotbe.AccordingtoHawkins
(2014),therehasntbeenanyglobalwarmingsince1997,andthetemperatureoftheplanethas
beenflatfor18years.Therehasbeennoconsensusontheexistenceofglobalwarmingorthatit
isbeingcausedbyhumans.

Climatechangedoesexist,andhumanactivityhasdefinitelybeenaverysignificant
contributingfactortothisimpendingthreat.Sincethe1950scarbondioxidelevelshavebeen
increasingdramaticallyduetoindustrialization(ClimateChangeEvidence:HowDoWeKnow?,
n.d.).AstheEarthgetswarmer,icesheetsmeltandcausewaterlevelstorise,whichcould
potentiallyharmlifeonland.Globalsealevelshaverisenaboutseventeencentimetersinthelast
century(Church&White,2006).AccordingtoNASA(n.d.),studieshaveshownthattheglobal
surfacetemperaturehaswarmedsince1880.Mostofthewarmingoccurredinthe1970s,with
the20mostwarmestyearsoccurringsince1981.Theworldshouldbeawareofthisoccurrence
asitwillaffectthemandfuturegenerationsoftheirfamilies.Withoutahealthyearth,peoplewill
notbeabletolivewithoutongoingfearandworry.

Conclusion
Climatechangeisveryreal,anditshouldbetaughttoyouthinordertocreateamore
energy.TheYaleProjectonClimateChangeCommunication(2015),haspresentedthat50%
thosewhocompletedtheirsurveyexpressedthattheybelievethegovernmentshouldbedoing
moretoprotecthealthharmsfromglobalwarming,33%supportedincreasedfundingforhealth
agencies.Thegovernmentshouldbepushingscientistsandpeoplearoundtheworldtohelp
createearthfriendlyenergyinordertomakesurethisplanetcansurviveothermilleniums.
Thosewhodenyitsexistenceareonlyhurtingthepublicmindmore,andshouldrealizethestate
oftheearthsbeingisnotinitsbestcondition.
