Injustice Essay
In this world there are many injustices, such as sweatshops in Asia. This is an
in justice because human beings (of all ages) are working in poor conditions, with
extra-long hours, and with poor pay. There are many ways to solve this horrible
injustice but boycotting is the most practical.
Big name brands cause this injustice, such as Nike, Sears, Disney and many
more. This topic is an injustice in many ways, unsafe factory practices at Foxconn
plants that have triggered worker deaths and suicides (Brasch) anything that kills
innocent people is an injustice. The fire extinguishers don't work, exit doors are
normally locked and there are no emergency exits. Plus not all workers were
trained to use the machines in the factories so it was a hazard for the people to use
them. Besides these bad conditions, the supervisors are aggressive to the workers.
On top of all that, Most workers earn $8.50 to $12.50 for a 48-hour per work week,
with mandatory overtime that can push them to as many as 80 hours (ProQuest
staff) for the amount of work these people do they dont get paid the fair amount.
Women, men and children are affected by this injustice. Women and men
work to make money for their families, and so do the children, but since the children
work all day they dont have time to get an education which is also an injustice to
me, every child deserves an education.
One thing we could do is put an embargo on Asia and demand them to stop
using these terrible sweatshops. Yet the best way to fix this terrible injustice is to
boycott the companies that use these sweatshops. By boycotting, it will slow down

the sales of the big companies that use sweatshops and when there are less sales
then there is a less demanding

need to produce products, therefore the people in the sweatshops wont have to
work as much. Then hopefully sweatshops will need to be closed due to lack of
production.
Now we can strive to fix this injustice, and save the women, men and children
that have to deal with this injustice daily. If anyone can fix this, its america "The
United States remains the world's most powerful force for peace, prosperity and the
universal values of democracy and freedom. Our nation's central challenge--and our
responsibility--is to sustain that role by seizing the opportunities of this new global
era for the benefit of our own people and people around the world (A National
Security Strategy for a New Century). When we boycott it will show that people care
about this injustice and we can do something about it.
